Requirements
  • A Medical or doctoral degree (MD, DO, PhD, PsyD, or equivalent) from an accredited institution is required.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Cardiology is required.
  • State medical licensure, or eligibility to obtain licensure, in Wisconsin is required.
  • The candidate must be able to participate in advanced congenital interventional cardiology clinical and catheterization laboratory work.
  • The candidate must remain available for emergent catheterization cases during off-hours according to a mutually agreed schedule.
  • The candidate must develop and complete a scholarly project during the fellowship year, with submission of one or more abstracts to national scientific meetings expected and peer-reviewed publication considered ideal.
Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical care in the Children's Wisconsin catheterization laboratory, anticipated to average approximately three days per week.
  • Participate in additional catheterization laboratory experience in Madison, anticipated to average approximately one day per week, with opportunities to expand participation for educational or complex cases.
  • Participate in a weekly pediatric cardiology continuity clinic and independently manage general cardiology patients.
  • Provide progressive care for pre- and post-catheterization patients under the supervision of the attending interventional cardiologist.
  • Present cases and participate in weekly clinical care conferences and other multidisciplinary conferences as appropriate.
  • Mentor general cardiology fellows in case preparation and presentation.
  • Assist with after-hours cases, averaging approximately two times per week.
  • Provide bedside and formal education to medical students, residents, and fellows as directed by the supervising cardiology team.
  • Complete a scholarly project during the fellowship year and submit abstracts to national scientific meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chair or Chair-Designate.
