Requirements
  • High school completion plus a specialized technical or business course is required.
  • Three to five years of job-related experience related to the assignment, such as facility management, churn, facility infrastructures, the client industry sector, or the government sector, is required.
  • Superior client management and customer service skills are required.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication, are required.
  • Knowledge of project delivery and tendering processes is required.
  • General knowledge of commercial building systems and/or construction is required.
  • Strong organizational, coordination, and documentation skills, with the ability to multitask, are required.
  • The ability to work independently is required.
  • The ability to interpret contracts, as required, is needed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and email software is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Receive, process, and validate service requests received by telephone, email, and personal visits, and maintain service call or work-order tracking as required.
  • Work with Facility Managers to deliver small-scale tenant service projects by determining required skills, assisting with contractor selection, and monitoring performance.
  • Coordinate, plan, and oversee BGIS and subcontracted forces to deliver required tenant service projects within the scope of the position.
  • Work with multiple concerned parties to ensure timely and successful project completion, adherence to scope and budget requirements, and client satisfaction.
  • Participate in developing in-house project engineering cost estimates, design concept alternatives, standards and procedures, and Consultant Terms of Reference.
  • Manage and oversee design consultants' and contractors' performance throughout projects, identify and resolve issues, and monitor and ensure service quality.
  • Review contractors' completed work, report discrepancies to the Facility Manager, and request purchase orders.
  • Ensure projects comply with regulatory, environmental, health, and safety requirements.
  • Follow company procedures to ensure a safe environment and the safety of others.
  • Send, receive, review, and track health and safety documentation.
  • Manage the time and space of building activities to prevent conflicting safety hazards.
  • Verify client security requirements and ensure service providers are compliant before entering client space.
  • Develop client project communications, including deadline notifications, process updates, and scope requirements.
  • Create and submit project documentation, funding justifications, and approval templates, including scope and specifications, tendering, financial administration, and contractor-performance monitoring.
  • Meet documentation requirements and submission deadlines.
  • Complete project assessment documentation to determine delivery methodology and service line.
  • Review contract-work invoices and address discrepancies.
  • Attend scheduling and budget-review meetings to mitigate overruns by understanding and managing scheduling or budgetary risks.
  • Create funding documents for tenants to review and commit funding for requested services.
  • Review quotes and funding documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Track projects and timelines and provide regular status updates.
  • Track and report project totals monthly.
  • Analyze annual project totals and report trends and cost variances.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors, clients, and other concerned parties.
  • Manage client expectations and address and resolve issues.
  • Manage stakeholder requirements, scope changes, and project expectations.
  • Lead small, low-complexity projects involving one discipline, one workgroup, and one location.
Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency with computer-aided design is considered an asset.

Veritas Capital to acquire facilities manager BGIS. July 17, 2026 | John McNulty Veritas Capital has agreed to acquire BGIS from CCMP Capital Advisors and Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo). BGIS runs and maintains buildings and facilities - offices, data centers, and government, healthcare, and industrial sites - for large public and private organizations, handling the engineering, operations, and technology that keep those properties running, a service known in the industry as technical integrated facilities management (IFM). The company oversees more than 65,000 facilities totaling over 620 million square feet globally with a team of more than 12,000. Gord Hicks continues as chief executive officer and will lead the business with his management team. CCMP and AIMCo had backed BGIS since 2019. Veritas Capital, a technology investor focused on companies operating at the intersection of technology and government, manages over $54 billion in assets.
