Requirements
  • A master's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Healthcare, or a related field and three years of management or healthcare administrative experience, or a bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Healthcare, or a related field and five years of management or healthcare administrative experience.
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to quickly reference materials for the leadership team.
  • Ability to adjust to shifting priorities and manage multiple tasks.
  • Process-oriented ability to understand organizational workflows.
Responsibilities
  • Identify new opportunities for growth in assigned hospital-based physician service lines, including Hospitalist Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Intensivist Care, Anesthesiology, Pathology, Radiology, Urgent Care, and other physician services.
  • Serve as the primary partner between SMG Core Administration, local hospitals, Anesthesiology and Radiology leadership teams, and system-wide support departments.
  • Develop business plans for growth strategies, including financial and budget projections, coordination with academic departments, market-data analysis, and timelines for new projects.
  • Manage the transition of established physicians and advanced practice providers at new community hospital sites into SMG WVUM, ensuring communication, project timelines, scope, and budget are maintained.
  • Partner with WVU Medicine leaders to develop new service sites.
  • Develop and operationalize plans for new clinical sites.
  • Provide administrative leadership to designated locations, share management of site office managers, develop and monitor annual practice operational budgets, ensure policies and procedures are followed, approve staffing decisions, and connect sites with University Health Associates leadership.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for physicians and advanced practice providers regarding contracting, compensation, benefits, operations, and productivity questions.
  • Serve as a dyad partner to assigned WVU Medicine service lines and coordinate monthly project meetings.
  • Analyze, compare, and report the performance of assigned WVU Medicine service-line programs to hospital leadership.
  • Identify and address opportunities for improvement in revenue cycle, staffing, and locums usage, and make recommendations to leadership.
  • Mentor the Manager of Practice Integration and provide guidance on projects.
  • Identify opportunities for improved resource utilization within clinical sites.
  • Monitor hospital transfer data and make recommendations to positively impact trends.
  • Develop consistency in the use of the scheduling system for hospitalist programs.
  • Manage daily staffing and cross-coverage of radiology physicians across multiple sites.
  • Manage advanced practice providers at designated sites and complete annual performance reviews.
  • Support Radiology physicians and advanced practice providers across the organization.
  • Travel extensively between existing and new clinic and outreach sites.
