Vishay Intertechnology has launched four new power modules featuring 650 V superjunction MOSFETs in the industry-standard SOT-227 package. The Vishay Semiconductors VS-FC50SA65, VS-FC100SA65, VS-FC150SA65, and VS-FC50LA65 are designed to optimise the balance between conduction and switching losses for high efficiency power conversion in industrial applications. Three devices come in single-switch configurations with nominal current ratings of 50 A, 100 A, and 150 A. The fourth is a 50 A device in a low side chopper configuration integrating a 650 V SiC diode. All leverage 650 V superjunction MOSFET technology to reduce power losses whilst maintaining fast switching performance. The modules will serve applications including solar power inverters, hydrogen generation systems, charging stations, and medical imaging equipment. They operate across temperatures from -55 °C to +150 °C. Sample and production quantities are now available with 12-week lead times.
Vishay Intertechnology releases new top-side cooling mount thick film power resistor in compact TO-263 (D[2]PAK) package. Automotive Grade device delivers 35 W power dissipation while enhancing thermal performance and saving space. MALVERN, Pa. - Sept. 29, 2026 - Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today introduced a new Automotive Grade top-side cooling mount thick film power resistor. Designed for automotive applications, the Vishay Sfernice D2TO35S improves thermal performance and reduces board space requirements, while delivering high power dissipation of 35 W at 25 °C in the surface-mount TO-263 (D[2]PAK) package. As thermal constraints increasingly become the primary system design limitation, many power components are transitioning from PCB-based cooling to top-side cooled architectures. By transferring heat directly to a heatsink, the D2TO35S released today enables up to nine times greater power dissipation than standard PCB-mounted devices when paired with an appropriate heatsink. Its compact, surface-mount design allows designers to increase power dissipation within the same footprint or provide the same functionality in a smaller footprint, while lowering PCB temperatures, reducing thermal stress on neighboring components, and improving overall system reliability. Offering a non-inductive design for improved signal integrity and power handling in fast transient conditions, the D2TO35S features a resistance range from 4.7 Ω to 550 kΩ - with tolerances down to +/- 1 % - thermal resistance of 4.28 °C/W, TCR down to +/- 150 ppm/°C, and a wide operating temperature range from -55 °C to +175 °C. The RoHS-compliant device is solder reflow secure at 270 °C/10 s. Samples and production quantities of the D2TO35S are available now with lead times of fourteen weeks.
Vishay Intertechnology has launched four thick film resistor sample kits designed to simplify component selection for high-power designs. The kits include surface-mount, Automotive Grade devices in TO-252 and TO-263 packages, with power ratings of 20W and 35W. The D2TO20, D2TO35, DTO35, and DTO35/D2TO35 kits feature AEC-Q200 qualified resistors, eliminating additional component qualification during development. They cover resistance ranges from 1Ω to 47kΩ with selected E-series values. The resistors offer non-inductive construction and electrical isolation between the resistor element and metal tab. They are compatible with standard surface-mount assembly processes, including reflow resistance up to 270°C for 10 seconds. Samples are available now, with lead times of four weeks. The kits target automotive, industrial, and other high-reliability applications.
Vishay Intertechnology thick film resistor sample kits simplify device selection and validation, accelerate time to market. Published on 09/24/2026 at 11:00 am EDT Acquiremedia MALVERN, Pa., Sept. 24, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today introduced four thick film resistor sample kits designed to simplify component selection and validation for high power designs, while reducing time to market. Providing complete, evaluation-ready solutions, each kit includes surface-mount, Automotive Grade devices in TO-252 (DPAK) and TO-263 (D[2]PAK) packages, with high power ratings, a wide range of resistance values, and an optional PCB test board to enable fast, reliable electrical and thermal evaluation. Devices in the Vishay Sfernice D2TO20, D2TO35, DTO35, and DTO35 / D2TO35 sample kits offer high power ratings of 20 W and 35 W in their compact, surface-mount packages. This high power density allows designers to reduce the number of parallel resistors or larger through-hole devices required, saving board space. Ideal for automotive, industrial, and other high reliability designs, all resistors in the kits are AEC-Q200 qualified, eliminating the need for additional component qualification during development. Covering a wide resistance range from 1 Ω to 47 kΩ with selected E-series values, the kits reduce sampling efforts and minimize the need for additional sample orders compared to typical single-value or single-package kits. Supplied on cardboard tape strips, with each strip holding four resistors, devices are sorted in ascending order of resistance value and clearly labeled for easy identification. Combined with optional PCB test boards, this organization reduces lab setup time and accelerates design-in. The resistors feature a non-inductive construction and electrical isolation between the resistor element and the metal tab, ensuring stable high frequency performance and enhanced safety. Compatibility with standard surface-mount assembly processes, including proven reflow resistance up to 270 °C for 10 s, improves assembly margin and manufacturing yield. Vishay standard rectifiers deliver high current ratings to 12 A in new Power DFN series DFN6546A package. September 16, 2026 Vishay Intertechnology, introduced four new series of surface-mount standard rectifiers that are the industry's first such devices in the low profile DFN6546A package with wettable flanks. Providing space-saving solutions for power line polarity protection and rail to rail protection in commercial, industrial, and automotive applications, the 5 A SE50N6x, 8 A SE80N6x, 10 A SE100N6x, and 12 A SE120N6x are each available with reverse voltages of 200 V, 400 V, and 600 V, and are offered in AEC-Q101 qualified versions. The latest package in Vishay's new Power DFN family, the DFN6546A features a compact 6.5 mm by 4.6 mm footprint and an extremely low typical height of 0.88 mm, allowing the Vishay General Semiconductor rectifiers released today to make more efficient use of PCB space. At the same time, the devices' advanced construction and die placement technology allow for a higher copper content and larger chip sizes, resulting in improved thermal performance, higher current ratings, and forward surge current capability. Compared to solutions in the SMPC (TO-277A) package with the same footprint, the SE50N6x, SE80N6x, SE100N6x, and SE120N6x deliver a 10 % lower profile, 20 % higher current ratings, and 82 % higher forward surge capability. Featuring an oxide planar chip junction design, the rectifiers offer typical reverse leakage current less than 0.1 μA, while their low forward voltage drops down to 0.77 V reduces power losses to improve efficiency. The devices operate over a wide temperature range from -55 °C to +175 °C, and provide ESD capability in compliance with IEC 61000-4-2, air discharge mode. The wettable flanks of their DFN6546A package allow for automatic optical inspection (AOI), eliminating the need for an X-ray inspection. Ideal for automated placement, the rectifiers offer an MSL moisture sensitivity level of 1, per J-STD-020, LF maximum peak of 260 °C. The devices are RoHS-compliant and halogen-free. Device specification table: Samples and production quantities of the new surface-mount standard rectifiers in the DFN6546A package are available now, with lead times of eight weeks.
