The City Line Ozone Park Civilian Patrol (COPCP) and Our Neighbors Civic Association of Ozone Park (ONCA) collaborated to hold a community Trunk or Treat with the on Saturday, Oct. 17, at its City Line McDonald's location at 75-20 Liberty Ave. in Ozone Park. Nearly 100 children in the community attended this community Trunk or Treat, where they got to see decorated vehicles in honor of Halloween, received candy and enjoyed various activities. Toys, fresh apples and warm cookies were also made available to the kids in attendance, courtesy of the Goodman McDonald's Group. "At the end of the day, it's all about bringing our community together and giving our kids something to enjoy right here in their own neighborhood," COPCP Communications Director and ONCA Vice President Daniel Hill said. "We're incredibly grateful to the Goodman McDonald's Group for opening their doors to us and giving us the opportunity to make this happen. It's wonderful to have a local business that's willing to work with community organizations and give back to the neighborhood. This was our first time hosting a Trunk or Treat, and we hope it's something that will only continue to grow in the years ahead." In addition to hosting this Trunk or Treat and other community events, the City Line McDonald's has also partnered with COPCP to offer discounted meals to customers in the neighborhood. Unofficially known as the "City Line Ozone Park Meal Deal," this McDonald's location offers customers a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets meal for $9 or a Hotcakes Breakfast Platter for $3. McDonald's profit hits $8.79B, but US diners are slipping away

McDonald's profit is still growing, but its US business is losing momentum. The company earned $8.79 billion over the four quarters through fiscal Q2 2026, up from $8.39 billion a year earlier. It kept 45.7% of revenue as operating profit, against 18.5% for the median S&P 500 company. Revenue rose 6.3% over the period, led by overseas markets. International Operated Markets revenue grew 8.0% in fiscal 2025, while US revenue rose 1.8% to $10.8 billion. US comparable sales grew just 0.8% in fiscal Q2 2026 and turned slightly negative in July. Management blamed weak execution of value offers and is shifting marketing money behind them. Debt stood at $54.6 billion, against about $0.8 billion in cash. The next test is the fiscal Q3 report, expected around November 4, 2026.

McDonald's Frozen Sprite White Peach echoes a popular Red Bull flavor at select spots.

McDonald's Frozen Sprite White Peach echoes a popular Red Bull flavor at select spots. October 21, 2026 McDonald's has put Frozen Sprite White Peach on menus at select restaurants, a drink Sporked compares to Red Bull's white peach ahead of a 2027 rollout. Word spread this week that the chain added the frozen drink at certain locations across the country, well before any full launch. Sporked reported the limited drop after Instagram posts from @markie_devo and @SodaSeekers flagged it. @SodaSeekers is run by Sporked's own Griffin Parker. The national rollout is expected in Spring 2027. Until then, the drink sits only at select McDonald's. The reason for the staggered release remains unclear. Customers can check the McDonald's app to see if a nearby store carries it. New drinks keep coming after the 2026 menu push. McDonald's already rolled out a brand-new drinks menu in the first half of 2026. It has kept adding McCafé items since then. Frozen Sprite White Peach fits that pattern. The chain is testing another flavored frozen option while holding the wider release for next spring. Sporked tied the taste to Red Bull's White Peach, a flavor the site covered last summer. That energy-drink version built a fan base of its own. The McDonald's drink leans on the same white-peach profile, this time mixed with Sprite and served frozen. Sporked has not been gentle with every new McDonald's drink. Its taste test gave the Caramel Apple Iced Coffee a 1 out of 10. The White Peach item arrives with higher hopes because it mirrors a flavor people already buy. No official statement from McDonald's appears in the early reports. The first public signals came from those Instagram accounts and the Sporked write-up that followed. Specific city lists and store addresses were not included. Coverage only notes select restaurants nationwide and points people to the app for local checks. Exact caffeine content and a full ingredient list also stayed out of the initial reporting. What is clear is the timeline: limited availability now, expected national arrival in Spring 2027, and a flavor lane already proven by Red Bull. Fast-food chains chase flavors customers already recognize. When McDonald's borrows a hit profile and puts it in a frozen Sprite, it is meeting demand instead of inventing a taste no one asked for. McDonald's opens new €6.6m restaurant in Cork's largest town.

McDonald's opens new €6.6m restaurant in Cork's largest town. The new outlet has created 80 jobs in the locality. News Daire Fitton Senior Reporter 14:21, 21 Oct 2026Updated 14:55, 21 Oct 2026 Fast food giant McDonald's has opened its latest outlet in Cork as part of a major nationwide expansion plan. The new €6.6 million restaurant in Carrigaline opened this morning with Cork GAA star Brian Hayes in attendance at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Article continues below The new 330-square-metre restaurant features a dual-lane drive-thru, indoor and outdoor seating, on-site parking and EV charging facilities. The doors will be open from 7 am to 11 pm, seven days a week, with the drive-thru remaining open 24 hours a day. The restaurant will also operate a 24-hour delivery service. Article continues below This newest McDonald's outlet has created 80 full-time and part-time jobs in the local community and marks a further investment in Cork by McDonald's franchisee Jim Ronayne, who also operates several McDonald's restaurants across Cork and Tipperary. Article continues below 138205441744 Speaking at the ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning, Jim said, "Cork Beo is delighted to open its doors in Carrigaline and welcome its first customers. "A lot of work has gone into bringing this restaurant to life, and it's great to see it open and ready to serve the local community. The investment has also created 80 jobs, giving people in the area the opportunity to join our team and build their careers with us. I've worked with McDonald's for more than 20 years, and I'm looking forward to making this restaurant a part of the Carrigaline community." Article continues below Its community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from Cork Beo and its partners. You can check out at any time. More info This is the 11th McDonald's outlet to open in Cork since its first expansion into the Rebel County in the mid-1980s. It follows a major multi-million-euro upgrade to the Ballincollig location in recent weeks, which saw six new double-sided self-service kiosks, a dedicated area for delivery collection, refurbishments to the bathroom facilities, and a completely new décor package, which the company says is the first of its kind in the Irish market. Planning permission has also been secured for similar upgrades at the busy Kinsale Road junction. The latest expansion into Carrigaline is part of a plan to open 25 new locations nationwide over the next five years, but elsewhere in Cork, those plans hit a snag. Article continues below Last week, Cork County Council rejected the fast-food giant's planning application for a new restaurant in Carrigtwohill. The fast-food chain had hoped to build the new restaurant at the Fota Retail & Business Park in Carrigtwohill, but it was this location that ultimately led to the application being refused. The proposed site is currently zoned for 'business and general employment' under the Cork County Development Plan. Planners determined that a 24-hour drive-thru in such an area would 'constitute an inappropriate departure from the core zoning objective and materially contravene the development plan.' They also highlighted that these projects are typically built in town centres or in designated retail/neighbourhood areas. Article continues below Several objections were also raised by local residents, including a particularly detailed submission from a local residents' group that highlighted the zoning mismatch and included expert input from an architectural firm.
