About the company

The Kidz Club operates daytime nursing centers for children with complex medical conditions, from birth to under 21 years old. Its prescribed pediatric extended care model gives children a place to receive ongoing treatment and spend time with peers while continuing to live at home. Nurses work with pediatricians, therapists and families to coordinate individualized care, alongside activities that support communication, learning and development. The business runs centers in Kentucky, Florida and Texas, with TKC Therapy delivering speech, physical and occupational therapy during children's regular visits. Founded in 1996, The Kidz Club is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Daytime schedules protect evenings: The Kidz Club closes nights, Sundays and major holidays.
  • Kidz Club integrates intensive treatment: children with qualifying Medicaid plans receive up to nine therapy hours weekly.
  • Kidz Club removes family attendance fees: Medicaid insurance covers the cost of attending its centers.

What critics are saying

  • Kidz Club enrollment depends on outside approval: provider-signed care plans go to insurers before families receive start dates.
  • Kidz Club screens for skilled nursing needs: behavioral diagnoses alone do not guarantee admission to its medical centers.
  • Kentucky care teams face recurring scrutiny: The Kidz Club's centers receive state inspections at least annually.

What makes The Kidz Club unique

  • Kidz Club builds infection controls into centers: HEPA filtration accompanies chlorine dioxide decontamination and medical-grade sanitizing.
  • Kidz Club extends care into transportation: wheelchair-accessible buses carry nurses alongside drivers.
  • Kidz Club separates center leadership: nursing directors oversee clinical care; administrators handle operations, transportation, staffing and performance.
