Requirements
- At least one year of interpretation experience.
- Effectively interpret between Burmese and English in both directions.
- Adhere to the National Council on Interpreting in Health Care Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
- Accurately complete assigned tasks, duties, projects, and paperwork promptly and within approved guidelines.
- Quickly learn and implement new and changing technologies.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, highly regulated environment.
- Complete additional duties and assignments on an ongoing basis.
- Use proficient computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, electronic scheduling, and the internet.
- Demonstrate excellent written communication skills.
- Work independently and within a team.
- For video remote interpreting, provide a computer or laptop with Windows 10 or higher, a steady wired internet connection with minimum download speeds of 20 Mbps and upload speeds of 10 Mbps, a webcam, a USB wired headset, and a contrasting solid-color backdrop.
Responsibilities
- Provide Burmese interpretation services on site in medical, educational, and other settings to empower individuals to advocate for themselves and their needs.
- Provide video remote interpreting services when assigned.
