Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of experience in diagnosis, repair, overhaul, preventative maintenance, electrical, and cooling systems on fleet vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
  • Basic welding experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Ability to have or obtain the tools needed to perform the required tasks.
  • Operational knowledge of common hand, power, and industrial tools.
  • A valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the repair shop teams responsible for diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and replacing components on fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Oversee the work of automotive repair shop team members.
  • Assist with planning and preparing training and orientation for new team members.
  • Evaluate machinery, vehicles, trailers, and equipment to determine required maintenance or repairs.
  • Work with the Fleet Maintenance Manager to plan work priorities, obtain necessary supplies, and assess the skills needed to complete tasks.
  • Collaborate with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments and delegate assignments based on team members' skills and experience.
  • Ensure maintenance and repair work is completed safely, effectively, and in a timely manner.
  • Inspect work performed by team members.
  • Track and log workers' time, materials, and other resources used for inventory purposes.
  • Work with the Fleet Maintenance Manager to coordinate topics for safety meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
