  • Graduate from Specialty Training Program (Required)
  • Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years-Related work experience (Preferred)
  • Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body
  • Certified CT Technician - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Certified Radiology Technologist - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Must be able to operate CT scanners and power injectors, perform CT procedures, post processing using advanced technology
  • Knowledge of ImageGently Guidelines and dose data program integration
  • Ability to prepare patients, position, immobilize, shield and select correct technical factors
  • Ability to perform IV contrast administration and venous access as directed by radiologist
  • Experience with CT interventional procedures, ablations, and interventional trays
  • Knowledge of cardiac imaging and CTA protocols
  • Knowledge of pharmacology related to contrast and cardiac medications (Metformin considerations)
  • Maintain inventory management for CT supplies
  • Quality control tests on CT equipment and notify maintenance
  • Life Image image management integration with PACS
  • Interfacing with ordering providers and accurate exam ordering and pre-cert lab tests
Responsibilities
  • Obtains CT images according to established protocols
  • Translate Results for contrast procedures
  • Dispense appropriate oral contrast to patients based on patient history and protocol
  • Performs I-Stat blood test
  • Performs venous access for IV contrast administration as directed by radiologist
  • Perform CT Interventional Procedures and assist Interventionalist
  • Operate Cryo, Radiofrequency, and microwave ablations
  • Maintain knowledge of protocols based on Image Gently Guidelines and dose monitoring
  • Maintain skills to operate different CT Systems at multiple locations
  • Maintain knowledge of all major organ systems and vascular systems for cardiac imaging
  • Ensure equipment is cleaned, sterilized and in working order
  • Interface with ordering providers regarding correct exams to order and required lab tests
  • Provide correct CTP coding and charges for patient procedures and supplies
  • Perform equipment quality control tests and notify team leader of irregularities
  • Utilize Life Image image management for scans from outside hospitals and import images to PACS
  • Set up imaging trays and access non-controlled medications as required
  • Manage inventory for CT supplies and maintain CT interventional inventory
  • Maintain knowledge of physics to lower patient dose on CT scanner
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with interventional CT procedures and biopsies preferred
  • Experience with transcatheter aortic valve replacement and endovascular aneurysm repair procedures preferred
  • Knowledge of Metformin and similar drugs interactions with IV contrast preferred
  • Knowledge of pharmacology in radiology preferred
