Veterinary Rotating Intern
About the job
- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited university is required.
- Licensure in good standing to practice in Virginia and/or Maryland is required.
- The ability to make decisions and communicate clearly and effectively with fellow team members and pet families is required.
- A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics is required.
- A professional demeanor and appearance, strong interpersonal skills, and a positive, friendly attitude are required.
- Willingness to learn, grow, teach, and contribute to the continued improvement of the hospital and team is required.
- Participate in specialty and Emergency rotations with a supportive, collaborative team.
- Develop professional goals with the support of the mentorship program.
- Have opportunities to participate in clinical research and trials.
- Receive exposure to veterinary therapies including high-flow nasal oxygen therapy, interventional radiology, mechanical ventilation, and emergency endoscopic procedures.
- Develop clinical confidence through high-quality, high-volume emergency training.
- Receive hands-on surgical training for proficiency in emergency settings.
- Participate in didactic training through grand rounds, journal club, morbidity and mortality discussions, and specialty department case rounds.
