Requirements

  • Familiarity with PDM (e.g., ENOVIA V6) or Windchill PLM systems

Responsibilities
  • Support Brake System Design: Engage in and learn the end-to-end design of braking components (e.g., hydraulic boosters, calipers, rotors, pads, actuators, etc.) using CATIA V5. Generate detailed 3D models and 2D drawings; responsible for CAD release for prototyping and production. Some CATIA V5 training would be available in-house
  • Support Mechanical Analysis: Support detailed engineering analysis (e.g., FEA, multi-body simulation, NVH studies, etc.) to predict brake performance, durability, and noise-vibration-harshness (NVH) characteristics. Iterate designs based on simulation and test data to optimize stopping power and reliability
  • Support Concept Development: Support and learn about the development of and documentation of brake system concepts and packaging layouts, considering vehicle geometry, on and off-road requirements, performance, etc. Ensure concepts align with project requirements and standards
  • Validation Planning and Testing: Support and learn the validation plans for brake systems by aiding in test plan creation efforts, supporting prototype builds, and conducting bench and full-vehicle tests (e.g., durability, NVH, ride comfort, handling, off-road performance, etc.). Analyze the correlation between test data and simulation results and follow requests for design refinements (as needed)
  • Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers concerning the design and development of brake components. Aid in technical direction and review supplier CAD models and drawings. Support the supplier design review process and ensure supplier deliverables meet specifications and quality standards
  • Design Review and Documentation: Support and participate in design reviews, DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)/PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) sessions, and design-for-manufacturing discussions. When needed to support project-related work, prepare and support maintaining engineering documents (e.g., specifications, test reports, control plans, etc.) in adherence to and compliance with industry and regulatory standards
  • Documentation and CAD Modeling: Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation. Develop 3D models and 2D drawings in CATIA V5 for all components and assemblies (including applying GD&T as needed). Author and update technical specifications, DFMEAs, design review materials, and engineering reports to support program milestones and production readiness
  • Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement: Investigate and resolve engineering issues during development and support after-production launch issues (if requested). Support the implementation of corrective actions and collaborate with other team members on continuous improvement efforts of braking system designs and development processes. Review IQS, VDS, JP Power, and Consumer Reports to support warranty and quality issues
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and product engineering teams to ensure designs are feasible for production and service. Participate and support in APQP/PPAP-type processes to support vehicle program launches
  • Leadership and Mentorship:Provide technical guidance and support to other engineers and team members
  • Travel: Travel up to 20% of the time, both domestically and internationally
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or a related field
  • Proficiency in utilizing CAE tools (e.g., ANSYS, Nastran, and MATLAB/Simulink) for advanced suspension modeling, dynamic simulations, and/or product optimization

The meeting on Wednesday was presumed to have focused on Hyundai's prior pledge to invest 9 trillion won (US$6.6 billion) to establish an industrial hub for artificial intelligence, robots and energy in the Saemangeum reclaimed area on South Korea's southwestern coast by 2029. The meeting likely also included discussions on Hyundai's contributions to the government's high-profile "megaproject" investment initiative, aimed at nurturing a new semiconductor cluster and facilities for AI data centers. Hyundai targets 9% profit margin by 2030 with 100+ new models and expanded EV production

Hyundai Motor Company unveiled an ambitious growth strategy at its 2026 CEO Investor Day, targeting 5.55 million global vehicle sales by 2030. The automaker plans over 100 product launches by 2030, with electrified vehicles reaching 60% of its sales mix, up from 23% in 2025. The company will introduce its first Extended Range Electric Vehicle models from early 2027, offering more than 600 miles of range. North American production will expand by 500,000 units, with the Santa Fe EREV to be manufactured in Alabama. Hyundai raised its 2030 operating profit margin target to above 9%, supported by a 3 percentage point reduction in cost of sales ratio. The company reported 95.2 trillion won in revenue for the first half of 2026, with a 5.6% operating profit margin.

Hyundai Motor reaches tentative wage deal with union after strikes cost 55,200 vehicles

Hyundai Motor and its labour union have reached a tentative wage agreement after 17 rounds of negotiations, ending a year of industrial action that disrupted production. Monthly base pay will increase by Won100,000 ($72.20), with a performance bonus exceeding 400% of monthly salary and a lump-sum payment of Won12.5m. The union, representing 400,000 workers, conducted 60 hours of strikes, including a full-day walkout on 21 August 2026—the first in a decade. The disruption resulted in roughly 55,200 vehicles in lost output, with forgone sales exceeding Won2.3tn. Union members will vote on the agreement on 31 August. The deal also addresses retirement age extension and technology adoption, including plans to introduce humanoid robots at Hyundai's Georgia plant from 2028.

Hyundai & Kia to take on Tata Nexon EV, Punch EV in 2027. Electric vehicles (EVs) are witnessing strong demand in the Indian market. Tata Motors currently leads the segment, commanding nearly 43% market share as of July 2026, followed by Mahindra and JSW MG Motor. The Tata Nexon EV and Punch EV are the major volume drivers, attracting a growing number of first-time EV buyers. Aiming to challenge Tata's dominance in the EV segment, Hyundai and Kia are planning to introduce locally developed compact electric SUVs in 2027. New Hyundai Compact EV Hyundai has confirmed that its all-new compact EV will be designed, engineered and developed specifically for the Indian market. It's likely to hit showrooms by March, 2027. While official details are still under the wraps, the new Hyundai compact SUV is expected to be based on the Hyundai Inster EV sold in European markets. It is likely to underpin the E-GMP (K) platform and could be offered in Standard Range and Long Range versions. The Hyundai Inster EV is globally available with the 42kWh (Standard Range) and 49kWh (Long Range) battery options, delivering claimed WLTP ranges of 300km and 355km, respectively. While the Standard Range version comes with a 97bhp, 147Nm electric motor, the Long-Range version is paired with a 115bhp, 147Nm motor. In terms of features, the new Hyundai compact EV is expected to offer a dual display setup comprising a touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring, OTA (over-the-air) updates, in-car connectivity tech, multiple airbags and ADAS. New Kia Compact EV At its 2026 CEO Investor Day, Kia has confirmed four new electrified models for the Indian market, including the Selots hybrid, Sonet hybrid, Carens Clavis hybrid and a compact EV. The upcoming electric SUV will be a Made-in-India model and is expected to measure around 4.2 metres in length. More details about the upcoming Kia compact EV are expected to be revealed in near future.
