Requirements
  • The position requires the ability to market the company to new clients and develop turnkey solutions, including estimating and proposal presentation for mechanical and plumbing retrofit projects in residential and commercial markets.
  • The candidate must have a competent understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems and how they function, including surveying mechanical systems, understanding needs and problems, determining repair, modification, or replacement requirements, interpreting drawings and equipment, and assessing job conditions.
  • The candidate must understand customer costs to own, operate, and maintain facilities and translate that understanding into proposals and sales that enhance facilities while reducing long-term ownership and operating costs.
  • The candidate must review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and estimate contents; estimate sizes, distances, quantities, time, costs, resources, and materials; and develop proposals.
  • The candidate must develop design-build solutions and prepare, present, or respond to proposals for customer requirements, including request-for-proposal responses and industry-specific solutions.
  • The candidate must qualify prospects, make effective sales presentations, answer questions and objections, follow up on leads and referrals, establish customer rapport, identify needs, and manage an active backlog of quotes.
  • The candidate must promptly address customer concerns, build productive relationships with customers and vendors, plan and schedule appointments, and manage personal time to maximize productivity.
  • The candidate must have an Associate’s degree in Construction Sciences, HVAC, or a related field.
  • The candidate must have at least 4 years of experience and knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing systems and components.
  • The candidate must have at least 4 years of experience developing and maintaining customer relationships.
  • The candidate must have 1–2 years of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • The candidate must be able to understand and communicate energy savings associated with proposed solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Market the company to new clients and develop turnkey solutions for mechanical and plumbing retrofit projects.
  • Survey mechanical systems, identify repair, modification, or replacement requirements, and provide prospects with solutions.
  • Review specifications and drawings, determine project scope, estimate quantities and costs, and develop customer proposals.
  • Document account activities, generate reports, and maintain records of business transactions with customers and suppliers.
  • Develop, present, or respond to customer proposals and request-for-proposal responses.
  • Provide modification, repair, and replacement recommendations and document requirements for customers and the operations department.
  • Qualify prospects, conduct sales presentations, follow up on leads and referrals, maintain customer rapport, and manage the quote backlog to meet booking goals.
  • Address customer concerns and maintain long-term customer relationships.
  • Build productive relationships with customers, vendors, and other outside agents while representing the company’s interests.
  • Plan and schedule appointments, manage personal time, and aggressively manage quotes to close sales.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technical, or a related field is preferred.
  • The ability to prepare financial justifications, including energy savings analysis, is preferred.
  • Experience with industrial refrigeration is preferred.

Harris expands into Colorado through multiple strategic acquisitions. June 2, 2026 Harris has expanded its national footprint into Colorado through the acquisition of three companies serving the region's mechanical systems, controls and building automation markets. The move establishes a strong operating base for Harris in Colorado and significantly broadens the company's presence across the Mountain West. The expansion began with the acquisition of Colorado-based temperature controls company D.R. Associates (DRA), effective May 4. Founded in Denver more than 20 years ago, DRA has built a strong reputation for delivering dependable temperature control solutions tailored to the needs of Colorado businesses. The company serves customers across industries including healthcare, manufacturing and commercial facilities. Effective June 1, Harris also acquired Climate Engineering (CEI) and Centennial Controls (CCI). CEI and CCI bring complementary expertise in mechanical systems, HVAC solutions and building automation throughout Colorado. Together, the companies have supported a wide range of commercial and industrial projects across the region, helping customers improve building performance, visibility and operational efficiency through advanced mechanical and controls solutions.
