- At least 3 years of experience as an automotive technician or mechanic.
- ASE certifications are preferred, specifically L1 and A1-A8, or a plan to achieve them.
- Ability to diagnose and repair all makes and models of vehicles.
- Ability to consistently deliver efficient, high-quality repairs.
- Ability and willingness to learn additional skills and processes.
- Professional appearance and strong communication skills.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move over 100 pounds.
- Ability to work with tools on vehicles lifted above the technician's head.
- Ability to work in tight spaces as required by the vehicle repair.
- Required dexterity to efficiently use hand tools.
- Ability to walk and stand for the majority of the workday.
- Ability to drive vehicles with manual transmissions.
- Ability to efficiently navigate a computer and tablet or iPad.
- Use automotive knowledge and skills to diagnose and repair vehicles for guests.
- Build experience as an automotive mechanic across a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicles.
- Complete full, accurate, and honest courtesy vehicle inspections.
- Work as part of a team to troubleshoot guest concerns quickly and effectively.
- Mentor newer mechanics and contribute to a supportive shop culture when serving as a senior technician.
- Follow and promote high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization.
- Work closely with the service department and communicate guest concerns effectively.
- Collaborate with other technicians to solve problems, meet deadlines, and deliver distinguished results.
