Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Engineering offers a learning route: its assistant broadcast engineer opening includes on-the-job instruction for the right candidate.
  • Benefits include practical access: its careers site lists telehealth, health savings accounts and flexible spending accounts.
  • WQDR talent gets creative latitude: its co-host posting promises freedom and support to make locally focused radio.

What critics are saying

  • Sales carries measurable targets: the advertised account executive role requires building a business portfolio and tracking revenue against annual goals.
  • Some engineering work is hands-on: the assistant role requires soldering, repair techniques and knowledge of studio construction.
  • On-air entry has an experience threshold: WQDR requires at least three years of full-time radio experience for co-host applicants.

What makes Curtis Media Group unique

  • Distribution extends beyond owned stations: its NCN network supplies news, weather and sports to more than 80 affiliates.
  • Agriculture has a dedicated outlet: its Southern Farm Network delivers news and information specifically to the farming community.
  • Ownership stays concentrated: the group describes its radio broadcasting business as being held by a single shareholder.
