Registered Nurse - Flex Team
About the job
- An active Registered Nurse license in good standing in the State of Colorado.
- Experience in an assisted living or skilled nursing setting is preferred, with 1–2 years noted.
- Advanced relevant education or certification is required; examples include Eden Associates or Alzheimer’s and dementia certifications and wound care programs.
- The ability to read, write, and speak English.
- The ability to provide customer service and communicate effectively.
- Computer word processing, email management, and database skills.
- The ability to handle objects weighing up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently, and to sit, stand, bend, and move intermittently during working hours.
- Provide clinical services on an as-needed basis to residents in skilled nursing and assisted living settings across all shifts.
- Coordinate care and services based on resident needs and individual preferences through ongoing assessment and evaluation.
- Initiate resident-centered care plans and continuously evaluate and update them with input from residents, families, and the care planning team.
- Listen to resident, family, and physician concerns and initiate corrective action.
- Recognize and identify signs and symptoms and use initiative and judgment to coordinate interventions.
- Communicate resident status with nursing staff, physicians, pharmacists, residents, family members, and other relevant parties.
- Protect resident privacy and confidentiality.
- Complete accurate documentation using electronic medical record platforms.
- Prepare, administer, and document medications according to physician orders and resident service packages.
- Ensure needed medications are available and expired medications are destroyed according to protocol.
- Communicate resident concerns, incidents, and progress to relevant parties.
- Document assessment findings, interventions, and follow-up.
- Supervise, coach, and discipline nursing support staff and report staff concerns to the Director of Nursing or designee.
- Interact frequently with residents, family members, and visitors.
- Fill in for a minimum of two shifts per month, with most shifts being 12 hours.
- Experience caring for residents with dementia.
- One year of experience in a supervisory capacity.
- One year of experience using electronic medical record platforms.
- Management education.
- Availability to work flexible, as-needed shifts and sign up for multiple locations, dates, and shifts.
