Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Four-day weeks are advertised: DCS's October 2026 Athens highway-technician listing offers $17-18 hourly.
  • Winter assignments cover travel: DCS Asset Maintenance's October 2026 Thornburg listing offers $25/hour plus hotels, travel and per-diem.
  • Contract wins add work: FDOT awarded DCS contract E22D3-R0 in October 2026.

What critics are saying

  • Highway upkeep is physical: DCS's Athens technician vacancy from October 2026 requires lifting, prolonged standing and adverse-weather work.
  • Storms determine assignments: the asset-maintenance unit's Thornburg winter-driver vacancy is on-call, according to its October 2026 posting.
  • Estimating has irregular hours: an October 2026 estimator vacancy at DCS's asset-maintenance unit requires nonstandard schedules during busy periods.

What makes DeAngelo Contracting Services unique

  • The founding family leads DCS: Paul DeAngelo Sr. is founder/CEO and Jarrod DeAngelo is president.
  • Highway bids have a dedicated business: DCS Asset Maintenance pursues performance-based road and bridge maintenance contracts.
  • Safety reviews span three levels: DCS holds weekly manager calls, weekly site meetings and daily briefings.
