Requirements
  • A master's degree in applied behavior analysis, psychology, education, or a related field and three years of experience working with individuals with autism and related disorders or developmental disabilities with comorbid mental health needs across community, school, or other clinical settings are required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • New York State Licensed Behavior Analyst licensure or a limited permit upon hire is required.
  • Ability to work effectively with key stakeholders across different hospital and community settings is preferred.
  • Ability to approach situations with flexibility is preferred.
  • Ability to work with individuals with varying levels of need and complexity is preferred.
  • Comfort working with pilot and novel programs to create new opportunities for integrated service models is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Implement Applied Behavior Analytic services across outpatient and inpatient settings within the medical center.
  • Deliver outpatient intensive Applied Behavior Analysis services, as well as inpatient consultation and direct services, for patients across the age span, primarily adolescents and adults.
  • Train staff, community-based staff, and caregivers on all interventions.
  • Supervise field work and practicum placement students as needed.
  • Perform complex psychosocial assessments, functional behavioral assessments, functional analysis, and skill assessments in collaboration with staff, individuals, and their families.
  • Develop function-based behavioral interventions, training models, and teaching programs, including instructional strategies, behavior reduction strategies, safety plans, and transition plans.
  • Coordinate training with individuals, families, and staff across milieu, home, foster home, educational, medical, clinic, and community settings.
  • Assess successful completion of behavior and training plans and terminate participation accordingly.
  • Coordinate with physicians to ensure continuity of care.
  • Develop, maintain, and update behavior and training plans in compliance with program, department, and hospital regulations.
  • Meet the minimum target for clinical productivity set by leadership.
  • Act as the primary contact for behavior and teaching plans.
  • Collaborate with referral sources and other internal and external professionals throughout behavior plans.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with community and health care agencies and the University's professional and administrative staff.
  • Serve on agency and community committees as needed.
