Requirements
  • A portfolio of work that showcases your design process along with finished design work.
  • 1+ years of experience designing digital web or app products, with recent experience designing interactive products or tools.
  • Proficient in using digital design tools such as Figma.
  • Experience adapting to changing priorities and incorporating feedback from colleagues to refine work.
Responsibilities
  • Collect and incorporate feedback from fellow team members.
  • Become familiar with the current state of a system or user experience.
  • Establish familiarity with product design and the release cycle by supporting work and contributing components that lead to hitting team and our goals.
  • Work with engineers and product teams to ensure design quality and consistency of shipped flows and interactions.
  • Contribute to team and product design rituals.
  • Practice transparency around keeping your team and mentors updated on your status.
  • Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.
Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience with visual design principles, type hierarchies and layout, and systems.
  • Proficient in prototyping tools (Figma, Play, Cursor).
  • Experience showing design decisions and impact.
  • Experience with user research and synthesis.
