Requirements
  • At least three years of relevant experience in water treatment.
  • Training in water treatment through AEC, DEP, DEC, BTS, or BTS-A, or a diploma in mechanical, civil, or chemical engineering.
  • Good command of Microsoft Excel.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken French.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and control treatment processes.
  • Inspect plant structures and complete the plant-operation checklist.
  • Monitor and inspect plant facilities and equipment to detect failures and ensure normal system operation.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on treatment equipment.
  • Supervise receipt of chemical reagents and track their consumption.
  • Collect samples, perform laboratory analyses, interpret results, and adjust the treatment process as needed to ensure treated water meets standardized quality requirements.
  • Manage and distribute team tasks as needed.
  • Lead daily team meetings.
  • Inspect, inventory, and dispose of residual hazardous materials at surrounding sites.
  • Complete and maintain the plant activity log.
  • Prepare regulatory reports and other documents required to track discharge requirements and standards.
  • Provide on-call coverage from Monday through Sunday, prepare the monthly schedule, and intervene as needed in the event of equipment anomalies.
  • Participate in and complete wastewater-treatment improvement projects and other projects.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in municipal and industrial water-treatment plants.
  • Experience tracking preventive and corrective maintenance.
