Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Excellent phone and customer service skills are required.
  • Strong communication skills are required.
  • Experience with insurance verification, prior authorization, billing for Medicare, Medicaid, or managed care, medical offices, healthcare, or CPAP and oxygen is relevant to the role.
  • Two years of home medical equipment or durable medical equipment experience and knowledge of medical terminology are preferred.
  • Previous data entry experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Welcome patients in person and over the phone, maintain patient charts, process patient orders, create delivery tickets, and coordinate scheduling.
  • Educate patients one-on-one on the uses and directions of prescribed medical equipment and supplies.
  • Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other referral sources to ensure patient care.
  • Complete intake and insurance verification, and determine charges and coverage for requested services or products.
  • Collect co-pays and enter payment data.
  • Collect compliant medical documentation for insurance invoices.
  • Maintain work operations by following company policies and procedures.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two years of home medical equipment or durable medical equipment experience and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Previous data entry experience.
