WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Systems engineering and prioritization

Responsible for executing a technical roadmap for an integrated missile system of systems
Produce and interpret high quality simulations, analysis, tests, verification processes to guide product design
Ability to decompose complex systems into functional parts, with clearly defined interfaces and requirements for each
Requirements derivation and validation
Create and carry out a verification and validation plan for the end to end system
De-risk technical objectives and manage team prioritization
Setup trade spaces and guide decisions around “how the system comes together”
Unblock engineering progress. This spans from RCA efforts on critical engineering issues to finding mechanisms to unblock the functional teams where stuck.
Identify “what is missing” or “what is important but not being managed”
Accountable for the shared technical output of the team
Operate at the intersection of software and hardware helping to craft a system level architecture that supports a robust and cost effective design
Define product milestones, lead technical design reviews, guide cross-functional product decisions, manage engineering risk
Coordinate the fabrication of prototype and low-rate production articles and subsystem/system level test efforts
Work with senior leadership to ensure resource plans are adequate for work scope
Conduct hands-on, in-field testing
Recognition of internal customer needs and ability to support the objectives of the business

Technical project management

Define milestones that break up delivery into manageable components of scope
Manage a delivery schedule
Balance short term “urgent” needs with long term “important” needs
Define technical success criteria for the deliverable
Align team priorities through reviews and cross-functional meetings
Manage and escalate risks (“if it’s not on track, are you raising the flag to get the team help before it’s broken”)
Assist in creation of customer, executive review, and product-team materials
Assist in customer and program management

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in a senior role leading system design and development from initial concept through test and delivery to customers
Basic understanding of Aerodynamics, Seeker Technology, Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs), Control Actuation Servos, Modeling and Simulation and how those disciplines relate to overall system performance
Technical Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Software engineering, and/or equivalent experience in a relevant field
Experience with data analysis, rapid prototyping, and early-stage customer deployment
Hands-on build and prototyping of complex systems
Familiarity with concepts of mechatronic design, firmware + software system design, sensor physics, tracking & calibration, and data-backed decision making
Ability to engage technically with mechanical, electrical, firmware, sensors, and robotics software leads
Ability to lead a cross-functional team through design trades while meeting program deadlines
High ownership, mission-oriented mentality. Desire to see the product meet the end need of the customer
Organized and detail-oriented, with strong verbal & written communication skills
A sincere commitment to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture
Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance
Ability to travel as required for test planning and execution

US Salary Range

$154,000—$231,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril’s total compensation package.
