About the Job

Requirements

  • A master's degree or higher in an electrical-machine/motor, mechanical engineering, mechanics, or related field.
  • At least seven years of NVH experience, including at least five years focused on motors, gearboxes, or drive-system assemblies.
  • Proficiency with NVH simulation software such as LMS Virtual.Lab, Ansys Acoustics, Actran, and COMSOL, and testing systems such as LMS Test.Lab, HEAD acoustics, and Brüel & Kjær systems.
  • A deep understanding of motor electromagnetic excitation, gear-train dynamics, structural vibration, and sound-radiation mechanisms.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead the NVH engineering team, establishing capabilities for NVH analysis, testing, and optimization for drive systems, including motors, gearboxes, and assemblies.
  • Lead simulation analysis and optimization of motor electromagnetic noise, including radial electromagnetic force waves and torque ripple; mechanical noise, including gear meshing, bearings, and unbalanced forces; and structural vibration transmission paths.
  • Own testing and evaluation of drive-system NVH performance, diagnose issues, analyze root causes, and provide system-level NVH solutions.
  • Develop NVH test plans and standards for motors and system components, data-analysis processes, and automated analysis tools to improve efficiency.
  • Align NVH simulation and test data to improve simulation prediction accuracy.
  • Collaborate closely with electromagnetic design, structural design, transmission engineering, and control-system teams to incorporate NVH design principles from the outset.
  • Provide rapid diagnosis and solutions for NVH issues raised by customers or occurring in production.
  • Control NVH performance throughout the process from initial design through production validation to ensure industry-leading vibration and noise performance.
