Entrepreneur Cooperative

View

Entrepreneur Cooperative runs a paid advisory program and peer network for founders and CEOs who are growing their companies or preparing to sell them. Members meet monthly in small facilitated forums with founders from similar industries or at a similar stage, and they can join retreats, founder dinners and expert-led workshops. A mentorship track also pairs members with seasoned entrepreneurs who guide their exit planning, while an online platform supports discussion and scheduling between meetings. Founders apply through a short screening process that ends with an adviser call, then pay to join the program. Entrepreneur Cooperative was founded in 2023 by entrepreneurs who had sold their own companies.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Staff work under a former outsourcing CEO: co-founder Connor Tomkies previously ran customer-support firm SupportNinja.
  • Membership is built for retention: the program allows pauses of up to three months a year without losing materials.
  • Its podcast promotes membership: Made It interviews founders like Morning Brew's Alex Lieberman and invites listeners to join the cooperative.

What critics are saying

  • Its career page recruits for other employers: postings describe unnamed US clients or name firms such as Christian Brothers Pools.
  • The in-house team is small: only eight people list ECo as their employer on LinkedIn.
  • Membership revenue is refundable: the cooperative returns the fee to members unhappy within their first six months.

What makes Entrepreneur Cooperative unique

  • Members help steer the business: the cooperative says founders shape its direction and priorities.
  • Members cannot sell to each other: the cooperative bans soliciting fellow members and requires confidentiality agreements from every founder.
  • It is tied to an investment firm: its co-founder also invests through Operator Equity, which lists the same Dallas address.
