Mintel is in search of a research and market analyst with a working knowledge of/expertise in financial services and insurance industries focusing on US and Canadian consumers. Qualified candidates will use industry knowledge and critical thinking skills to develop quantitative surveys, analyze consumer and market data, create custom and syndicated content related to these topics, and present to clients.
This is a remote position based in Toronto.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Analyze US/Canadian consumer behavior across the financial services industry (credit cards, banking, insurance, lending, and fintech), with an eye toward helping businesses understand how to best market to various consumer segments
- Create insightful reports that combine consumer data with secondary research on market trends and innovations to demonstrate the best of Mintel’s thinking on consumer behavior within the Financial Services industry.
- Provide critical thinking, insight and forward-looking statements that impact our clients’ business/careers, both in written content and directly to clients via in-person and webinar engagements.
- Develop and conduct on-site and virtual client presentations, as well as written deliverables, in response to client requests, covering market, consumer and product insights and trends.
- Represent Mintel as an industry expert (eg with press, at tradeshows, etc)
- Present at tradeshows, conferences and professional events
- Respond to journalists and other media requests
Who We Are Looking For:
- A Researcher: You are comfortable analyzing data, exploring different topics and consumer groups to provide clients with insightful data and analysis. Experience in a relevant consumer/media/marketing research, shopper or consumer insights, branding or consulting role is preferred.
- A Subject Matter Expert: You are well-versed in the Financial Services industry, and understand the market dynamics and industry influences at play.
- Naturally Curious: You are naturally curious and great at navigating internal and external data, asking second and third level questions to see the patterns behind data to craft expert analysis to be used by clients. You are self-motivated, creative, able to think strategically, while following set processes with strong attention to detail.
