DENSO provided the technological foundation for generating and managing battery passports, which enables access to battery information via QR codes whilst maintaining data security. TÜV Rheinland Japan, acting as an independent certification body, verified the system's regulatory compliance and data reliability based on EU standards. AESC supplied data from its existing energy storage systems business and has implemented sustainability measures across its supply chain, including battery recycling frameworks. The validation confirmed the solution's practicality for real-world business integration. The companies will now expand their efforts to include AESC's automotive batteries for broader market implementation.
DENSO, a leading mobility supplier, has recognised the winners of its 2026 North America Business Partner Awards at its annual business partner convention in Southfield, Michigan. The event, themed "Tradition Meets Transformation, Let's Craft Tomorrow Together", celebrated suppliers demonstrating exceptional performance in quality, value, innovation and partnership. DENSO will showcase its vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technology at the 2026 ITS America Conference & Expo in Detroit from 9-12 June. The mobility supplier will demonstrate its MobiQ smart mobility solutions at booth 2053, featuring roadside and on-board units that enable real-time communication between vehicles and infrastructure. Key displays include the RSU-5941 Kit, DENSO's latest roadside unit designed to integrate with existing transport infrastructure, and an interactive V2X experience showing how traditional intersections can be transformed. The technology supports applications including traffic signal priority, emergency vehicle pre-emption and real-time traveller information. Rohm president Katsumi Azuma discussed the company's dual strategic approach on 12 May 2026, involving partnerships with Denso and ongoing power semiconductor business integration talks with Toshiba and Mitsubishi Electric. The company aims to maximise corporate value by strengthening both analogue capabilities through Denso collaboration and power semiconductor operations through the three-company alliance. The integration covers Rohm and Toshiba's entire semiconductor businesses, whilst the three-way alliance focuses specifically on power semiconductor operations. Denso reported consolidated revenue of ¥7.54 trillion for fiscal year 2026 (ended 31 March), up 5.3% year-on-year. Operating profit rose 6.5% to ¥552.5 billion, whilst profit attributable to owners increased 5.9% to ¥443.8 billion. The Japanese automotive supplier attributed revenue growth to higher vehicle sales and cost recovery from product programme changes. However, profitability was affected by tariff-related costs, higher material prices and increased workforce investment. For fiscal year 2027, Denso forecasts revenue of ¥7.67 trillion but expects operating profit to decline to ¥500 billion, reflecting increased investments for future growth and business uncertainty. The company raised its annual dividend to ¥67 for FY2026 and forecasts ¥74 for FY2027. Regional performance showed strongest operating profit growth in Europe, up 221.3%.
