Responsibilities:

Employees

• Work closely with team leaders to achieve established performance criteria for the business group
• Coach and develop your group to achieve strategic objectives
• Inspire a collaborative environment to foster engagement, development and retention of the group under your responsibility
• Act as an ambassador to attract talent and promote career opportunities
• Be an agent of transformation to promote our values
• Actively collaborate with other business group directors in the region and across Canada, as well as market managers and regional and North American client sector managers to achieve excellent business results
• Work with project managers, project managers and project teams to improve project execution skills in the business group
• Provide practical technical advice and mentorship to engineers and technical staff 
• Support and comply with GHD's Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management system requirements and management engagement matrix
• Act as a project manager or project director on relevant projects

Yield

• Ensure sustainable growth of the business group's net revenues
• To stimulate financial performance with respect to the contribution; Monitor and manage backlog, utilization, payback period, variances, and markups
• Develop and prepare the group's annual budgets and proactively monitor progress
• Manage the distribution of staff in projects in collaboration with project directors
• Manage and mitigate risks in the business group
• Applying GHD Management Systems for Safety, Integrity, Quality and the Environment
• Build and maintain effective customer relationships
• Ensure the technical validity of the work produced by the business group

Business Development and Customer Service:

• Develop and execute the business plan of the group's business group
• Build effective relationships with key clients in the business group
• Lead project procurement plans, coordinate proposal preparation and related activities, while being aligned with regional objectives
• Actively participate in client, professional and industry events to promote the GHD brand
• Provide support for critical business development initiatives

Education

• Bachelor degree in engineering;
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
• Existing Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) licensing (asset).

Experience

• 10 years of experience in engineering project management in the industrial, energy or related sector with construction management and supervision
• 15 years of experience as a leader of a high-performing team;
• Experience in the environment (decontamination and rehabilitation) is an asset;
• English and French (written, spoken); punctual mandates outside of Quebec;
• Ability to manage priorities and intervene as needed;
• Ability to adapt leadership style to the composition of your team;
• Good emotional intelligence;
• Ability to gather, influence and motivate a group of professionals;
• Excellent people management and mentoring skills;
• Team player with leadership skills;
• Analytical mind with problem-solving skills;
• Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams.
