Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Quality ASQ certification a plus
  • 4+ years' work experience in Quality and/or manufacturing environments
  • Ability to read, edit, modify, approve, and release mechanical drawings and specifications
  • Demonstrated strong partnering skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of ISO procedures, ASTM Standards, and Quality Management Systems
  • Knowledge of fundamental quality topics and metrics (ex: APQP, PPAP, SPC, 8D Methodology, and Process Capabilities)
  • Experience using and implementing Lean Manufacturing principles; problem solving techniques, 5S, value stream mapping, business process improvement mapping, first pass yield, lost time analysis, etc
  • Ability to provide informative and professional assistance when working with suppliers, customers, and co-workers
  • Demonstration of excellent written and oral communication skills with the flexibility and ability to work across functional areas and at various organizational levels
  • Ability to prioritize numerous responsibilities and multi-task to develop and produce accurate, professional and error-free documentation in a timely manner achieving due dates
  • Demonstration of excellent leadership skills
  • Ability and willingness to mentor and coach others nurturing a culture rich in the effective use of quality tools and practices that provide consistent results and outstanding process quality
  • Willing to travel up to 20% to customers, meter shops, and/or suppliers domestically and worldwide for problem solving, auditing, and new product development activities
Responsibilities
  • Gain a detailed understanding of a specific Sensus' product design, including materials and manufacturing requirements while working in cross functional teams
  • Develop and implement documentation to support APQP processes; including but not limited to Process Flow, PFMEA's, Control Plans, Inspection Plans, and data collection formats
  • Perform and Analyze Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility studies (Gage R&R) through techniques such as Minitab or Excel workbooks
  • Facilitate Root Cause Analysis through various problem-solving tools and techniques on internal concerns or external customer concerns/returns
  • Submit document change request for improvements while periodically auditing for effectiveness and sustainability
  • Manage supplier performance by developing and implementing supplier Quality Control strategies through APQP activities and supplier PPAP's and/or annual layouts
  • Implement risk analysis processes (ex: Correlation or Target meters) and documentation to identify and remediate potential quality issues
  • Issue and manage CAR's to internal and external suppliers for non-conforming defective product through Helix software
  • Participate in supplier credit process for non-conforming defective product returns
  • Support Procurement and Commodity Managers in identifying potential supplier risks and perform trade-off analysis
  • Train suppliers on vendor management programs; APQP/PPAP's, supplier rating program, and/or scorecards
  • Assist with internal programs to identify and qualify suppliers that meet engineering requirements, procurement priorities, and characteristics (ex: incoming inspections)
  • Participate in Watermark, corporate social responsibility program working in local communities to support environmental and volunteer services to our regions
