Requirements
- A Master's degree is required, with combined experience and education accepted as a substitute for the minimum education.
- At least 5 years of experience is required.
- Knowledge of one or more relevant programming languages, such as Python, C++, or Golang, is required.
- Experience with Linux is required.
- Experience with Virtual LAN and/or Virtual Extensible LAN is required.
- Experience with Mellanox switches is required.
- Experience with software-defined networking programming is required.
- Experience with Ansible, Bash, and Nagios is required.
- Experience with Prometheus is required.
- Familiarity with Simple Network Management Protocol is required.
- Experience with applicable information technology protocols, such as Border Gateway Protocol, Secure Shell, and Transport Layer Security, is required.
- Experience with iptables and Network File System is required.
- U.S. citizenship, an active Top Secret clearance, and SCI eligibility are required.
Responsibilities
- Implement technical solutions to novel research problems.
- Collaborate with more senior research staff to transform research ideas into implemented solutions.
- Contribute to larger team efforts in implementing research prototypes.
- Contribute to documentation and publications as needed.
- Independently develop parts of a larger system.
- Propose approaches to problems and methods for implementing solutions using state-of-the-art tools.
- Divide project-level goals into smaller tasks to be addressed by researchers.
- Initiate the design, development, and implementation of technology research projects.
- Investigate the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products.
- Plan and execute applied research.
- Maintain substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories and contribute to scientific literature and conferences as needed.
Desired Qualifications
- A Master's degree is preferred.
- 7 years of experience is preferred.
- Proven leadership ability is preferred.
- Experience in a university environment is preferred.
- Experience with artificial intelligence, very large-scale integration design, machine learning, deep learning, TensorFlow, PyTorch, HuggingFace, and Dockerization is preferred.
