Transportation Engineer - PM Bridge
About the job
- Eight to fifteen years of experience in bridge design engineering.
- Experience with applicable software, including OpenBridge/MicroStation, AutoCAD, LEAP Bridge, AASHTOWare BrR, AssetWise, HEC-RAS, and Microsoft Office, and willingness to learn additional software and programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven success in delivering high-quality project submittals.
- Ability to stay organized.
- Professional demeanor and ability to communicate effectively with people across different roles.
- Valid driver's license and a favorable driving record.
- Flexibility to travel for field measurements as needed; travel is minimal.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Prepare structural designs and details for bridges and culverts.
- Produce plans and specifications for bridges and culverts.
- Prepare bridge type studies and similar reports.
- Complete load rating analyses of bridges.
- Assist with oversight of entry-level engineers and budgeting work tasks.
- Provide design assistance during construction, answer contractor questions, and review shop drawings.
- Coordinate project requirements with other engineers and surveyors.
- Provide civil engineering drafting support for site, roadway, and traffic work as needed.
- Obtain and maintain safety certifications and client prequalifications for Departments of Transportation and turnpikes.
- Apply design standards, standard drawings, and computer-aided design requirements for Departments of Transportation and local agencies.
- Participate in periodic industry events and related marketing activities.
- Professional Engineer registration is preferred.
- Engineering Intern certification is acceptable if the candidate can obtain a Professional Engineer license within six months.
