Requirements
  • Law Degree plus professional legal qualification from UK or a Member State of the European Union
  • A minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience in law firms, governmental agencies, and/or in-house legal departments
  • Experience in corporate legal and financial services regulatory matters is preferred
  • Detail-oriented with strong project management, organisational and analytical skills
  • Fluent in English, other European language(s) a plus
Responsibilities
  • Legal support on payment services, compliance, and prudential matters and maintenance of our licensed payment entities in the UK and Luxembourg
  • Support on payments regulatory matters, including payments laws and regulations that apply to our payments entities
  • Provide advice and guidance to the product, operations, design, and engineering teams working in Airbnb’s payment team
  • Coordinating and conducting day-to-day management of corporate governance, regulatory inquiries and some litigious matters
  • Drafting and reviewing inter-company and commercial agreements
  • Fostering strong working relationships within the legal department and payments compliance team, senior management and business stakeholders
  • Staying up-to-date and helping to keep the team advised on legal, regulatory, and policy developments relevant to payments and financial services
  • Proactively working to draft, review and revise internal processes, policies and workflows
  • Instructing outside counsel where appropriate and supervising the provision of cost-effective, business-oriented legal advice
