AdventHealth plans new 80-bed hospital in Central Florida mixed-use development.

AdventHealth plans new 80-bed hospital in Central Florida mixed-use development. Central Florida continues to experience rapid population growth, driving increased demand for healthcare infrastructure and large-scale mixed-use developments. As communities expand, developers and healthcare providers are investing in projects that combine residential, commercial, and medical services into integrated environments. One of the latest developments is a planned 80-bed hospital by AdventHealth, which will become a central feature of the Legacy Place development in Central Florida. This project reflects the growing importance of healthcare construction, mixed-use community planning, and long-term infrastructure investment. Project overview: Legacy Place development. The proposed hospital will be part of Legacy Place, a large 700-acre mixed-use development located near Florida's Turnpike, County Road 470, and Central Parkway. Key highlights of the project include: * New 80-bed hospital facility * Approximately 25-acre hospital site * Retail, dining, and commercial development * Phased construction and community expansion * Strategic location in the rapidly growing Wildwood-The Villages area The hospital is expected to serve as the centerpiece of the larger development, providing critical healthcare services to one of the fastest-growing regions in the United States. Supporting growth in Central Florida. The Wildwood-The Villages region has experienced significant population growth in recent years, creating increased demand for healthcare access and community infrastructure. The new hospital is intended to: * Improve access to medical care * Reduce travel times for residents seeking treatment * Support long-term regional healthcare needs * Strengthen medical infrastructure as the population grows Projects like this demonstrate how integrated community development can combine healthcare, retail, and residential growth into a connected environment. A mixed-use vision for the future. Legacy Place is designed as more than just a healthcare project. The development aims to create a vibrant destination that includes: * Retail and shopping experiences * Dining and entertainment spaces * Business and commercial opportunities * Healthcare and wellness services This approach reflects modern trends in mixed-use development planning, where communities are designed to provide convenience, accessibility, and long-term sustainability. Construction timeline and development plans. According to project officials: * Initial phases of Legacy Place are expected to begin opening in 2027 * Hospital construction is also scheduled to start in 2027 * Completion and opening of the medical facility is targeted for 2030 The phased construction strategy allows developers to manage growth efficiently while supporting future expansion across the site. Construction industry perspective. Large healthcare developments require specialized planning, technical expertise, and coordination between multiple construction disciplines. From medical infrastructure and patient-focused design to utilities and commercial integration, projects like this highlight the growing demand for expertise in commercial construction, healthcare facility development, and large-scale infrastructure planning. Conclusion. The planned AdventHealth hospital at Legacy Place represents a major investment in the future of healthcare and community growth in Central Florida. By combining medical services with retail, business, and residential development, the project demonstrates how integrated planning can support rapidly expanding populations and long-term regional development. SaveStation placed at Silver Comet Trail - City of Rockmart.

SaveStation placed at Silver Comet Trail - City of Rockmart. The City of Rockmart has installed the first outdoor AED SaveStation along Georgia's Silver Comet Trail, helping improve emergency preparedness for the thousands of people who use the trail each year. The project was completed through a partnership involving AdventHealth and The EMS Super Store and marks a significant milestone in expanding public access to life-saving defibrillators in outdoor recreational spaces. "Having quick access to an AED can make the difference between life and death during a sudden cardiac emergency." The Silver Comet Trail stretches nearly 95 miles from Smyrna to the Georgia-Alabama state line and is widely used by walkers, runners, and cyclists throughout the year. Organizers say the installation represents another step toward building safer parks, trails, and communities across Georgia while increasing awareness around heart-safe emergency preparedness. "This installation is more than just a cabinet on a trail - it is another step toward creating safer parks, trails, and communities across Georgia." Project partners also expressed hope that additional AED SaveStations will eventually be added along the Silver Comet Trail in the future. Connect with Us Get Involved!
