Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field is required.
  • Three to five years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems and standards, such as ISO 9001.
  • Experience with quality control tools and methodologies, such as statistical process control, failure mode and effects analysis, and root cause analysis.
  • Proficiency in using statistical software and quality measurement tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, squat, stoop, twist, and kneel.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and procedures to ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate and analyze non-conformities and implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production and engineering, to integrate quality standards into product development and manufacturing processes.
  • Monitor and analyze quality data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with company, ISO, and customer quality management system requirements.
  • Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality procedures and best practices.
  • Assist with complex dimensional inspection and train inspectors on measurement techniques.
  • Participate in customer audits and respond to customer inquiries and complaints regarding quality issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
  • Conduct inspections and tests of products, materials, and processes to identify areas for improvement and potential quality issues.
  • See assigned corrective actions through to completion and closeout.
  • Facilitate formal root cause analysis for corrective actions and train others on root cause analysis techniques as needed.
  • Manage advanced product quality planning, including process flow diagrams, process failure mode and effects analyses, control plans, capability studies, and measurement systems analyses, for assigned areas.
  • Train others on inspection, measurement, and advanced product quality planning methods.
  • Prepare customer quality assurance submittals, such as inspection and test plans, first article inspection reports, production part approval process documents, and quality plans.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices in quality engineering.
Desired Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of the ASME Welding Code.
  • Working knowledge of nondestructive examination methods, including penetrant testing and visual testing.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Welding Inspector is a plus.
