Requirements
  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in customer service, quality assurance, research, auditing, or reporting.
  • Experience or knowledge in the healthcare industry.
  • Basic knowledge of hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or inpatient chart components and terminology.
  • Knowledge of Webex, Zoom, or a compatible virtual meeting platform.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Experience using Kofax Capture or a compatible application.
  • Experience using OnBase or a compatible application.
  • Proficiency in assigned electronic medical record systems; training is provided.
  • Proficiency using mySCP Care; training is provided.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Access to high-speed internet connectivity and a cell phone for DUO authentication across internal systems and electronic medical records.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of mental awareness.
Responsibilities
  • Accurately acquire hospital medicine charts for registration, coding, and billing.
  • Maintain facility electronic medical record access and comply with remote guidelines, including patient privacy and access security.
  • Resolve outstanding Chart Resources queries for hospital medicine charts.
  • Maintain metrics and audits accurately and efficiently.
  • Complete tasks with an expectation of 98% accuracy and a four-day turnaround time.
  • Report and publish audit findings and metrics to appropriate parties, including immediate and upper management.
  • Maintain quality standards throughout the department.
  • Maintain acquisition and auditing policy and procedure documents as necessary to include current coding guidelines for each facility.
  • Review patient data for accuracy, including account number, name, visit date, and other demographic data when required.
  • Communicate with relevant support groups for follow-up and resolution of document data issues.
  • Maintain daily production goals and accurate production spreadsheets.
  • Back up chart validation and other Chart Resources processes when required.
  • Participate in company and departmental activities, charitable initiatives, and corporate goals and objectives.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the Athena IDX billing system.
  • Technical school or college education.
  • An Associate degree.
  • Healthcare or Business Administration field of study.
  • Medical Office Administration field of study.
