- Have strong classroom management skills, including setting high expectations and keeping students engaged.
- Communicate new content clearly and precisely and lead students through inquiry-based class discussions.
- Be detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Work with small groups of students to help them reach IEP goals.
- Teach, review, and reinforce academic content.
- Maintain accurate and organized student information records.
- Assist with classroom setup and logistics, including preparing student materials or manipulatives and maintaining and beautifying the classroom.
- Support student behavior management and de-escalate challenging behaviors.
- Collaborate with families and staff to support student learning.
- Ensure student safety at all times.
- Supervise students inside and outside the classroom as needed, including during fire drills, lunch and recess duty, and enrichment activities or classes.
- Provide administrative and task-based support to teachers and operations staff.
- Take on additional responsibilities to meet student needs.
- A bachelor's degree is preferred.
