Sep 23, 2026, 12:59 ET Longtime President & CEO Joe Lozowski will transition out of the business as Company President Nick Meter leads a management buyout, acquiring a significant ownership stake in the firm - preserving the firm's leadership, culture and client commitments across California and Texas LOS ANGELES, Sept. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Tangram Interiors, one of the nation's largest commercial interiors firms and a leading Steelcase dealer serving Southern California and Dallas-Fort Worth, today announced the completion of an ownership and leadership transition. Nick Meter, Tangram's president, has been named president and chief executive officer, succeeding Joe Lozowski, who led the company as chief executive for 25 years. Meter led a management buyout, acquiring a significant stake in the company from the Lozowski family, which retains a minority interest. Lozowski will serve as an executive advisor during the transition, and members of the Lozowski family remain actively involved in the business. The transaction ensures continuity for clients, employees and manufacturer partners. Tangram will continue to operate under the same name and brand, with no changes to its day-to-day operations, service teams or client relationships. Under Lozowski's leadership, the company grew into a diversified interiors business generating nearly $300 million in annual sales, with capabilities spanning contract furniture, architectural products, technology integration, custom fabrication and facility services. "Building Tangram alongside this team has been the privilege of my career," said Lozowski. "The best succession plan is the one where the people who built the business with you carry it forward - and that is exactly what this accomplishes. I could not be more confident in the company's future." "This is a continuation, not a change in direction," said Meter. "Joe built a company defined by craftsmanship, entrepreneurship and genuine care for the people we serve. As owners as well as operators, we are more invested than ever in delivering exceptional environments for our clients and creating opportunity for our team." "Tangram is recognized for its design leadership, innovation and commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience," said Pamela Woodward, vice president of channel at Steelcase. "Their dedication to Steelcase, their clients and their team has helped build a strong and enduring partnership. We thank Joe for his commitment and leadership, congratulate him on an extraordinary career, and look forward to our continued partnership with Nick and the entire Tangram team." Tangram furnishes Be Well OC Irvine behavioral health campus. Case study: Through a public-private partnership, Be Well OC's 22-acre Irvine campus expands Orange County's continuum of behavioral healthcare. By HFT Staff As mental health and wellness needs continue to grow across Orange County, Be Well OC set out to create a campus dedicated to supporting the full community through a comprehensive continuum of care. Developed through a public-private partnership, the new Irvine campus was envisioned as a vital component of the region's healthcare ecosystem. Unlike traditional behavioral health facilities, the goal was to create an environment that felt welcoming, dignified and restorative rather than clinical or institutional. The 22-acre campus would need to support a wide range of services, including crisis stabilization, substance use treatment, therapy, consultation and wellness programming, while maintaining the highest standards of safety for both clients and staff. The design team sought to create spaces that foster healing, belonging and human connection through a hospitality-inspired aesthetic, thoughtfully integrated indoor and outdoor environments and furnishings specifically selected for behavioral healthcare applications. Partner selection. Tangram partnered with architecture firm Boulder Associates and Be Well OC to furnish all four buildings across the new Irvine campus, delivering furniture solutions that support safety, comfort, wellness and community engagement throughout the facility. Tangram's successful delivery of the first three buildings led to the award of the fourth building, a testament to the team's performance, collaboration and commitment throughout the project. The Tangram project team included: * Sales Executive: Curtis Lee * Sales Assistant: Jason Romero * Customer Service Representative: Gary Scott * Client Support Team Leader: Adriana Haros * Project Coordinator: Cambria Johnson Innovative solutions. Because behavioral health settings require specialized considerations, Tangram's furniture selections prioritized safety, durability and ease of maintenance without sacrificing aesthetics. The scope spanned reception and waiting areas, lounges, client and patient dining spaces, private and shared offices, conference rooms, substance use treatment areas, consult rooms, adult and adolescent crisis stabilization units, group therapy and activity rooms, private and shared client bedrooms and extensive outdoor environments. Tangram curated products from a broad portfolio of manufacturers including Arcadia, Boss Design, Davis, Encore, ERG, Global Furniture Group, Hightower, HAT Collective, IOA, Janus et Cie, Kimball, Kwalu, OFS/Carolina, Pineapple, SitOnIt, Humanscale, Spec, Stance, Steelcase, Three H, Blu Dot, Kannoa, Landscape Forms, Forms + Surfaces, Tournesol and Loll Designs. Throughout the campus, furnishings were selected to reinforce the project's hospitality-inspired vision. Warm materials, residential influences and thoughtfully designed gathering spaces help create an environment that feels supportive and approachable rather than institutional. Private and shared client spaces balance comfort and functionality, while therapy, treatment and consultation areas provide settings that encourage trust, connection and healing. A standout feature of the project is the extensive integration of indoor and outdoor spaces. Gardens, walking paths, open lawns, gathering areas and outdoor lounges extend the healing environment beyond the building walls, creating opportunities for reflection, recreation and community engagement. Furniture selections throughout these outdoor areas support the campus's broader wellness mission while helping blur the line between indoor and outdoor experiences. Results. * Behavioral healthcare without the clinical feel. The campus delivers a warm, hospitality-inspired environment that promotes dignity, belonging and wellbeing while supporting specialized behavioral health services. * Safety-focused furniture solutions. Products were carefully selected to support the unique safety requirements of behavioral health environments while maintaining a welcoming aesthetic. * Indoor and outdoor environments designed for wellness. Extensive outdoor gathering spaces, gardens, walking paths and lounges complement interior environments to support holistic wellbeing. September 10, 2026
