Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with an active Registered Nurse or Bachelor of Science in Nursing license in the state of Washington is required.
  • Completion of state-mandated HIV education is required.
  • Basic Life Support cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and team-building abilities are required.
  • The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and evaluate approximately 10–12 Medical Assistants, including Medical Assistant supervisors.
  • Implement nursing policies and procedures in collaboration with the Medical Director and Health Center Administrator to meet organizational standards, philosophy, and governmental regulations.
  • Perform monthly audits, including National Patient Safety Goal audits, and demonstrate knowledge of state and federal regulations applicable to health centers or hospitals.
  • Focus clinic efforts on quality measures, Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set standards, and Meaningful Use standards.
  • Provide annual Medical Assistant training on infection control, sterilization techniques, and related topics.
  • Lead hiring efforts for Medical Assistants and participate in hiring other support staff.
  • Oversee and maintain a patient care system for nurse-only visits.
  • Work with the Health Center Administrator and Clinical Director in the daily operations of the clinic.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish ability is preferred but not required.
  • Strong leadership abilities and coaching skills are preferred.
  • An eagerness to learn is preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-motivated abilities are preferred.
