“I can succeed as a Lead Solution Architect - Fixed Income at Capital Group”
As a Lead Solution Architect, you will serve as the domain expert to support our fixed-income business partners and development teams. You will steer strategic technology direction, define target state architecture, and roadmaps, and help build reference implementations in partnership with our delivery teams. You will also be responsible for identifying future trends, evaluating emerging technologies, and determining appropriateness for the fixed-income domain. You will coach and mentor others to build a strong architecture talent bench.
Key responsibilities are:
Solution Design and Roadmap Development:
- Defined and drive target state roadmap and solution blueprint for fixed-income applications.
- Formulate architectural point of view to drive decisions and discussions at various architectural review boards and other governance bodies as needed.
- Design solutions that deliver business value and in alignment with architecture principles, technology standards, best practices, and guidelines
- Innovate solution design with emerging technologies and future industry trends.
Stakeholder Engagement and Business Priorities:
- Understand the business needs and explain architecture, architectural options, relevance to the business, and associated business value to both educate the business on architectural considerations and to help the business make well-informed decisions on any size initiative.
- Engage closely with IT and architecture partners to increase the adoption of enterprise standards, and architecture design principles, drive cloud adoption, and increase our ecosystem resilience.
- Drive engagement and collaboration across teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Thought Leadership and Influence:
- Engage with leadership to understand business strategy, articulate solution options, evaluate tradeoffs, and influence key decisions.
- Provide thought leadership and influence solutions that balance practicality with strategy to meet business priorities.
- Evangelize best practices and innovative solutions, opportunities for process rationalization, and automation across the organization.
Coaching and Talent Development
- Coach and mentor embedded architects and IT team members to build a strong architecture talent bench.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.

- You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
- You have experience with or are aware of technologies such as: AWS or Azure cloud platforms/technologies, data management patterns, data lake technologies and AI/ML.
- You have business acumen in the front-office through the back-office processes and flow.
- You know the fixed-income products (e.g. derivatives, interest rate swap, credit default swap, futures, FX option)
- You have 2 years minimum experience with Aladdin and/or Charles River Development
- You have 2 years minimum experience working in an asset management firm.
- You have 8 years minimum experience performing solution architecture tasks (does not need to have the architecture title): build solution roadmap, manage stakeholders, practice good design principles, lead technology direction, replace technology platforms, provide oversight of vendor solutions selection and integration.
Preferred skills:
- Strategic thinker. Record of bringing innovative solution design.
- You are comfortable with presenting your ideas at the senior leadership level.
- You understand order management and compliance workflow.
- Experience with hand-on development.
Southern California Base Salary Range: $187,370-$299,792
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
