Requirements
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in a similar position in the hotel sector, preferably in housekeeping.
  • Training in Tourism, Hotel Management, or a related area is desirable.
  • English is required; a third language is valued.
  • Proficiency with the Fols property management system.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, inventory control, and standard hotel operating procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to coordinate and motivate a diverse team while maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Attention to detail when verifying cleanliness, organization, and work quality.
  • Ability to plan and organize staff tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to identify and quickly resolve issues related to cleaning or guest service.
  • Good communication skills with staff, other departments, and guests.
Responsibilities
  • Report directly to the Housekeeping Manager and Head of Accommodation.
  • Work closely with hotel departments including reception, maintenance, and customer service.
  • Maintain contact with cleaning-product suppliers and other external companies related to hotel operations.
  • Supervise the housekeeping team's work in guest rooms and common areas, ensuring compliance with quality standards and hotel policies.
  • Verify that cleaning procedures are performed correctly according to established protocols.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure they are in excellent condition and free of defects.
  • Coordinate and assign daily tasks to housekeeping staff in rooms, corridors, common areas, and bathrooms.
  • Monitor the team's efficiency and productivity to ensure cleaning time and quality requirements are met.
  • Provide ongoing training on cleaning procedures and quality standards.
  • Conduct periodic performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Monitor cleaning-product and equipment inventory, ensuring adequate stock and efficient use.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing department on requisitions for cleaning supplies and hygiene products.
  • Ensure guest rooms and common areas meet cleanliness and presentation standards that support guest satisfaction.
  • Handle special guest requests related to room cleanliness or comfort, including requests for pillows and additional towels.
  • Ensure housekeeping staff comply with occupational health and safety protocols and applicable internal and external regulations.
  • Oversee sustainability and energy-efficiency standards in housekeeping, including appropriate use of environmentally friendly products and waste reduction.
  • Prepare periodic reports on the condition of guest rooms and common areas, including incidents or areas requiring special attention.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed tasks, required maintenance, and guest requests.
  • Ensure sustainable practices are followed in the use of cleaning products and waste management.
  • Propose improvements to cleaning processes and resource optimization.
  • Maintain high cleaning standards during periods of high occupancy.
  • Resolve cleaning or guest-comfort issues quickly and efficiently.
