Requirements
- A BTS opticien lunetier, Brevet professionnel d’opticien lunetier, or equivalent qualification is required.
- The role requires interpersonal skills, rigor, and discretion when handling data.
Responsibilities
- Assist members in selecting and ordering optical equipment.
- Perform optical measurements and process prescriptions appropriately.
- Use computer tools to process member orders.
- Provide a high level of service, including a warm and courteous welcome to members.
- Help members choose frames and lenses according to their prescriptions.
- Help members schedule appointments with an ophthalmologist.
- Perform visual examinations and adjust prescriptions when necessary.
- Enter member orders into the computer and send special orders to the appropriate suppliers.
- Collect payments and manage cash, card, and other funds according to established procedures.
- Transmit appropriate information to social security and social protection organizations when necessary.
- Adjust and fit optical equipment according to prescriptions and measurements taken from members.
- Order merchandise and supplies needed for the optical center.
- Record receipt of special orders from external suppliers.
- Maintain compliance with safety instructions, internal procedures, storage procedures, and workplace cleanliness requirements.
- Store merchandise and supplies.
- Follow production, bookkeeping, merchandising, and storage standards.
- Ensure sufficient stock of lenses and trial products.
- Contribute to the effective operation of the optical department and the warehouse more generally.
- Assist other warehouse departments as needed.
- Supervise apprentices.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as an optician is a plus.
