Medical Assistant
About the job
- At least 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant is required.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Ability to work in several clinic locations is required.
- Greet patients, escort them to examination rooms, and assist them with completing forms as needed.
- Become familiar with clinic computer hardware and software and use it according to company policies.
- Answer multiple-line telephone calls in multiple languages.
- Schedule appointments and accommodate patient appointment needs, including arranging transportation and rescheduling.
- Perform clerical work as needed, including copying, filing, and faxing.
- Maintain procedure rooms so they are neat and ready for use at all times.
- Assist doctors during Endovenous Laser Therapy procedures according to instructions and individual doctor preferences.
- Prepare patients before procedures and clean up afterward.
- Ensure patients receive post-procedure instructions and information about obtaining medication if needed.
- Prepare IV solution.
- Apply knowledge of sterile techniques and OSHA regulations.
- Train new staff and assist ultrasound staff as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is preferred.
- Bilingual ability in Spanish is highly preferred.
