Les Schwab Tires has laid off 70 employees at its Bend headquarters as part of a restructuring effort. Chief Administrative Officer Jodie Hueske said the changes will "better align resources around serving stores, supporting customers, and supporting the company's continued growth." The tyre and auto service chain, which has over 9,000 employees and 600 locations, has expanded rapidly in recent years. It added 100 stores across four states in the past three years and plans to open 30 new locations this year. Affected employees will receive severance and extended benefits. The company was sold to San Francisco investment fund Meritage in 2020 and appointed a new CEO, Tom Nolan, in March.
Les Schwab cutting 70 jobs at Bend headquarters. BEND, Ore. - Les Schwab Tires is cutting 70 positions at its corporate headquarters in Bend. In a statement to Central Oregon Daily, Les Schwab chief administrative officer Jodie Hueske said the layoffs were a difficult decision. "Saying goodbye to coworkers who have contributed to the company is never easy, and we recognize the impact this has on employees and their families. Employees leaving the company as part of these changes are being provided transition support, including severance and extended benefits," Hueske said. Hueske said the restructuring is not a reaction to short-term business challenges. "As Les Schwab Tires has expanded to more than 600 locations and 9,000 employees, we continue to evaluate how work is organized and where targeted investment is needed," Hueske wrote. The move comes three months after the company hired Tom Nolan as its chief executive officer. It marked the first time the Bend-based company has been led by someone from outside its longtime internal leadership ranks. "Les Schwab Tires has added 100 locations in four new states over the past three years and plans to open another 30 locations this year. The restructure will ensure the company remains positioned to support stores and customers while continuing to invest in capabilities needed for the future," Hueske added.

In addition to selling and installing tires, they also offer wheel alignments, batteries, brake inspections and installations, and more drivetrain services. The system dimensions are 2" x 4-1/2". It also accepts 1" insulating glass or 1" thin triple insulating glass unit. This new storefront system Chateauglass installed also features SB70/clear laminated glazing with an argon fill.
