Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Hold current National Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant.
  • Be able to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
  • Be able to bend, stoop, reach, rotate normally, stand, and walk during an 8–12 hour shift.
  • Be able to work closely with others, work protracted or irregular hours, work around biohazards and infectious diseases, and work with hands in water.
  • May be required to travel between facilities.
  • Be able to use and learn software applications.
  • Be able to organize and prioritize work and work both independently and in a team setting.
Responsibilities
  • Greet and escort patients to exam rooms; prepare for provider visits by obtaining initial information and vital signs.
  • Prepare exam rooms for patients, ensuring cleanliness and availability of supplies.
  • Assist with and/or perform examinations, tests, and procedures.
  • Schedule appointments and set up referral contacts as needed.
  • Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Educate patients on follow-up expectations.
  • Maintain quality-control testing logs as required.
  • Ensure medical equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Assist patients with completing medical documentation.
Desired Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
  • One year of healthcare experience.
  • Effectively communicate with staff and patients.
  • Adapt to changing environments.
