Nexxen is looking for a Principal Data Scientist that plays an integral role in the organization’s research efforts and is responsible to deliver state of the art machine learning solutions to Nexxen’s Ad Tech platform. Working in a team of several full-time employees, the Principal Data Scientist will lead the design efforts of large multi-component systems and will be expected to make architectural decisions, flexible enough to address current and future requirements of the Nexxen’s platform. The position requires a good understanding of Ad Tech as well as Nexxen’s product and technology stack, and the ability to integrate it with the platforms of acquired subsidiaries. Additionally, the position requires the ability to train new data scientists on state-of-the-art machine learning methodologies and be a go-to person for architectural design discussions. Our team follows a hybrid schedule working in-office two days a week and remotely for the rest.
What You’ll Do:
● Lead design efforts to maintain and advance Nexxen’s existing forecasting infrastructure which powers Linear, Digital and Cross Channel Planning Tools.
● Collaborate with other Data Science teams as well as Product teams to create scalable architectures which can support future potential enhancements.
● Interacts with the leadership team to influence product direction.
● Recruiting and training junior data scientists.
● Provide constant feedback to employees, conduct performance evaluations, and design employees’ growth plans.
● Integrate existing Nexxen technology with the technology of newly acquired companies.
● Write and publish research papers on Nexxen’s behalf.
● Write patents on Nexxen’s behalf
● Advise upper management on validity and value of potential data acquisition contracts and partnerships, and ensure that said partnerships are providing data of adequate quality, and alert upper management in cases where such contracts do not merit renewal.
● Interacts with external clients as a representative for Data Science team.
● Help Nexxen’s analysts understand the best ways to utilize the products based on their capabilities and strengths relative to our competitors.
● Identify new opportunities for advanced analytics and machine learning and developing projects to support their advancement.
What will I bring?
● PhD in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field with 7 years + of related work experience, Master’s degree with 8 years + of related work experience or a Bachelor’s degree with 12 + years of related work experience.
● Strong experience in developing machine learning models, preferably focusing on forecasting, classification, time-series analysis.
● Development experience in the following programming languages: Python, Scala, SQL
● Experience working with Redis, MongoDB, ElasticCache, Spark, MapReduce, Vertica
● Hands on experience working with Tensorflow, Keras, PyTorch, SKlearn, Pandas

In support of pay transparency and equity, the minimum and maximum full-time annual base salary for this role in New York is $160,000 - $190,000 at the time of posting, with the potential of an incentive or bonus. While this is our reasonable expectation this is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, certifications, responsibility, and geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
