Janitorial Supervisor
About the job
- A college diploma or equivalent, or a high school degree with significant experience in janitorial or custodial work or a related field, is required.
- At least 3 years of experience in janitorial or custodial work, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Organizational and time-management skills sufficient to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to communicate effectively with employees, managers, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to train and develop employees and build and maintain effective teams.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively with others.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with janitorial work.
- Maintain and properly store cleaning equipment and supplies, and promptly report and address defects or issues.
- Conduct regular facility inspections to ensure all areas are clean and well-maintained, identifying and addressing issues promptly.
- Monitor and track the use of cleaning supplies and equipment, and maintain inventory levels according to company standards.
- Train janitorial staff in proper cleaning techniques, Good Manufacturing Practice guidelines, and safety procedures.
- Ensure janitorial staff adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety, security, and environmental policies.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure cleaning activities do not interfere with production or other operations.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, including cleaning logs, work orders, and inspection reports.
- Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.
- Perform daily cleaning tasks while coordinating janitorial services, overseeing quality, and ensuring safety compliance.
- Provide direct leadership and support to janitorial staff.
