About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Digital Ecommerce Manager to oversee ecommerce website operations, digital customer experience, ecommerce technology, website projects, and online business initiatives. This role ensures website performance, reliability, usability, brand consistency, and effective execution of digital projects while coordinating developers, agencies, vendors, marketing teams, and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate has strong ecommerce and project management experience, understands ecommerce platforms, integrations, analytics, tracking, UX/UI, and front-end web concepts (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), and can effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical teams. Coding is not required. The candidate should also be curious about AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and similar platforms, and interested in exploring practical ways AI can improve ecommerce operations, workflows, documentation, reporting, QA, and productivity.
What You’ll Do:
·Ecommerce Website & Platform Management
oManage day-to-day ecommerce website operations and related digital systems.
oOversee website updates, checkout functionality, payment settings, tracking, apps, integrations, and platform configurations.
oCoordinate with developers, agencies, designers, and internal teams to implement enhancements and resolve issues.
oMonitor website performance, mobile responsiveness, customer-facing bugs, tracking issues, and site reliability.
oEnsure websites are user-friendly, mobile-optimized, visually consistent, and aligned with brand standards.
oUnderstand the impact of themes, apps, integrations, tracking, and platform changes on performance and customer experience.
·Project Management
oLead ecommerce and website projects from planning through launch.
oCreate project briefs, requirements, timelines, QA plans, testing procedures, launch plans, and post-launch reviews.
oCoordinate cross-functional teams and external partners.
oTranslate business needs into functional and technical requirements.
oManage priorities, risks, dependencies, budgets, approvals, and deliverables.
oConduct testing before and after launches to ensure successful implementation.
UX/UI & Customer Experience
oApply UX/UI best practices to improve the online shopping experience.
oIdentify and resolve friction points across navigation, product pages, forms, cart, checkout, mobile experience, page speed, and trust signals.
oUse analytics and behavior tools (GA4, Shopify Analytics, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, etc.) to identify improvement opportunities.
oSupport A/B testing, landing page optimization, checkout improvements, and mobile enhancements.
oRecommend data-driven improvements that enhance usability, conversion, and customer satisfaction.
·Visual Design & Brand Consistency
oEnsure all website updates align with brand guidelines, including colors, typography, imagery, layout, tone, and overall presentation.
oReview pages, banners, forms, popups, and assets before launch.
oCoordinate with creative and marketing teams to ensure accurate implementation.
oIdentify visual inconsistencies and usability issues that may impact trust or conversions.
oMaintain consistent experiences across desktop and mobile devices.
·Technical Coordination & Ecommerce Systems
oServe as the business-side owner of ecommerce technology, website improvements, and integrations.
oMaintain working knowledge of ecommerce platforms (Shopify, Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, Magento, WooCommerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, etc.).
oUnderstand HTML, CSS, JavaScript, APIs, tracking pixels, data feeds, apps, plugins, ERP, OMS, CRM, email/SMS, loyalty, review, search, subscription, and customer service integrations.
oCommunicate effectively with developers and vendors, evaluate technical recommendations, and ensure solutions support business objectives.
·AI & Workflow Improvement
oExplore practical uses of AI and LLM tools to improve productivity, documentation, research, QA, planning, reporting, troubleshooting, and process development.
oIdentify opportunities to reduce repetitive work and improve communication and efficiency.
oUnderstand AI limitations and apply sound judgment when using AI-generated outputs.
oMaintain curiosity and willingness to experiment with emerging AI tools and workflows.
·Analytics, Tracking & Reporting
oMonitor conversion rate, traffic, revenue, checkout performance, customer behavior, and campaign effectiveness.
oUse tools such as GA4, Shopify Analytics, Looker Studio, Search Console, Hotjar, and Microsoft Clarity.
oEnsure tracking, pixels, UTMs, and conversion events function properly.
oIdentify data gaps and coordinate technical fixes.
oPrepare business-focused performance reporting and recommendations.
·Digital Marketing Support
oSupport marketing teams by ensuring landing pages, tracking, forms, checkout flows, and campaign assets are functioning correctly before launch.
oUnderstand how website performance impacts marketing effectiveness.
oAssist with campaign execution from a website, UX, and technical perspective.
oMarketing expertise is helpful but not required.
·Vendor, Agency & Developer Management
oManage relationships with agencies, developers, SaaS providers, platform support teams, and vendors.
oReview scopes, timelines, deliverables, budgets, and launch requirements.
oHold vendors accountable for quality, documentation, QA, and communication.
oEscalate issues when expectations are not met.
oTranslate business needs into clear vendor requirements.
·Ecommerce Operations & Troubleshooting
oSupport resolution of issues related to checkout, payments, shipping, taxes, customer accounts, integrations, tracking, and website functionality.
oCoordinate with operations, finance, customer service, marketing, and technical teams during incidents.
oMaintain documentation, troubleshooting guides, QA procedures, and platform settings.
oRespond quickly to customer-facing issues affecting sales or user experience.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years in ecommerce, website operations, digital commerce, or ecommerce project management.
- Experience managing ecommerce websites and digital projects.
- Hands-on experience with major ecommerce platforms.
- Strong project management, stakeholder management, QA, and launch planning experience.
- Knowledge of ecommerce technologies, integrations, analytics, tracking, checkout systems, and customer journey optimization.
- Strong UX/UI understanding and visual design judgment.
- Experience using analytics and behavior tracking tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Interest in AI tools and workflow improvement
