Requirements
  • Ability to work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting.
  • Ability to learn and understand work-related safety hazards and safely use or operate related tools and equipment.
  • Ability to move throughout active construction and project-site environments, including uneven terrain, mud, gravel, sand, and other varying surface conditions.

  • Ability to communicate and exchange information with crew members, supervisors, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and others in field and office settings.

Responsibilities
  • Direct activities of construction workers personally or through subordinate supervisors.
  • Provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of organizational units.
  • Confer with and direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating construction phases to prevent delays.
  • Preserve profit.
  • Implement company safety policies.
  • Study specifications to plan construction procedures based on start and completion times and staffing requirements for each construction phase.
  • Assemble supervisory, clerical, engineering, and other organizational members at project start.
  • Order tools and materials for delivery at specified times to conform to work schedules.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve workforce complaints and grievances.
  • Confer with supervisory and engineering personnel, inspectors, and tool and material suppliers to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure workmanship conforms to specifications and construction schedules are followed.
  • Prepare or review reports on progress, materials used, and costs, and adjust work schedules based on those reports.
  • Direct workers performing major maintenance or reconditioning projects for existing installations.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with subcontractors, owners, designers, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist project management with monthly cost projections.
  • Conduct superintendent meetings.
  • Hire and develop superintendents.
  • Coordinate warranty work, punch-out activities, vacations, and field coverage between all sites.
  • Communicate between divisions.
  • Coordinate with project management and area safety supervisors to manage accidents and incidents.
  • Communicate and coordinate with subcontractors to meet company expectations and operate at a high level.
  • Assist other craft workers as needed.
