- A high school diploma is required.
- At least 8 years of hands-on experience is required.
- Proficiency with computers and other technologies, tools, and systems pertinent to the position is required.
- Working knowledge and/or certification with electronic security manufacturers such as Lenel, AMAG, DMP, Software House, FLIR, Hirsch, MDI, Bosch, Pelco, Genetec, HID, and Axis is required.
- Working knowledge and/or certification with operating systems commonly used for access control systems, intrusion detection systems, and closed-circuit television systems is required.
- Experience installing, testing, and troubleshooting electronic security system components and supporting hardware is required, including security appliances and processors, field sensors, access-control workstations and credentialing software, door controllers, card readers, cameras, video-management servers, network video recorders, and battery-backup controllers.
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous workloads, adapt to changes, plan, organize, and prioritize work is required.
- Ability to read and interpret project Interface Control Document drawings and electrical schematics is required.
- A current and active Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required.
- An active passport is required to support overseas travel.
- Ability to perform physical activities including climbing, bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling, and to work at elevated heights using ladders, scaffolding, boom lifts, or scissor lifts is required.
- Participate in site surveys and gather site-specific data needed for design and installation efforts.
- Support the design of electronic security system and subsystem solutions from initial concept to final product based on customer work requirements.
- Generate material lists for design efforts.
- Participate in periodic design reviews as required by customers or contracts.
- Perform Pre-Installation, Testing and Check Out activities in the engineering facility.
- Use manufacturer literature and technical support during solution development.
- Use controlled documentation, government standards, application guides, and industry best practices to support the design and installation process.
- Assist with scope definition, specifications, and budgetary write-ups for proposal-capture personnel supporting electronic security system efforts.
- Perform physical installation activities in unusual locations, including climbing in and out of equipment and working outdoors.
- Install, repair, and service electronic equipment, including computers, radar, missile control, avionics, and communications equipment, in field installations.
- Hands-on experience deploying and testing physical security systems.
- At least 8 years of experience in security systems installation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
