Requirements
  • A Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree is required.
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Internal Medicine is required.
  • An active Texas medical license or eligibility for Texas licensure is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage acute inpatient care efficiently is required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive inpatient care during overnight hours, including admissions, consultations, and management of medical emergencies.
  • Collaborate with specialists, nursing staff, and ancillary services to deliver high-quality care.
  • Communicate promptly with patients, families, and referring physicians to facilitate care transitions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety measures, and hospital protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with medical records and billing standards.
  • Support the training and development of residents and medical students, as applicable.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a hospitalist or nocturnist role is preferred.
  • Two years of previous experience is a plus.
