Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience performing business analysis and refining requirements for information systems is required.
  • Experience working with common process-based documentation methods, including use cases, Agile user stories, and process modeling, is required.
  • The position requires strong written and verbal communication at all levels of an organization.
  • The position requires attention to detail and experience working on several products at one time.
  • The position is remote with the ability to work East Coast hours as needed.
  • The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain required federal government security clearance if needed.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for clearance purposes.
Responsibilities
  • Support Product Development Managers in defining the minimum viable product for an application or product and the supporting release plans.
  • Conduct requirements discovery, data modeling, process improvement and reengineering analysis, process design, business process management application modeling, user interface design, and data interface requirements discovery.
  • Conduct discovery workshops with customer stakeholders to collect and document solution requirements.
  • Collaborate with Product Development Managers and technology stakeholders, such as Systems Architects, to define new or enhanced product requirements and functionality.
  • Collaborate with Product Development Managers to support prioritization of feature enablers defined by architects within the product roadmap.
  • Deliver and maintain user engagement analytics to characterize users, including sectors, demographics, needs, and requirements, and support case studies and other anecdotal information.
  • Author user stories by breaking down large problems into smaller stories that provide value to users, with detailed acceptance criteria that developers and quality assurance personnel can use to complete their tasks.
  • Work continuously with teams to provide answers, feedback, and direction on work items, enablers, and user stories.
  • Consult Product Development Managers for guidance and clarity on product vision, roadmap, and requirements.
  • Collaborate with the team to define the sprint plan based on priorities outlined within the overall product vision and roadmap.
  • Refine product requirements based on input from user engagements, sprint showcases, and demonstrations.
  • Collaborate with the team to prepare estimates for user stories within the product backlog.
  • Conduct formal review and acceptance of user stories implemented by a team.
  • Identify, track, and manage risks and escalate them when necessary.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions.
  • Design and implement complex data models based on customer application requirements.
  • Use TFS, Jira, and GitHub for different project management responsibilities.

  • At least 1 year of hands-on Appian solution implementation experience.
