About the job

Requirements
  • Experience in business analysis or business process mapping, ideally with exposure to an industrial, asset-intensive, or mining environment.
  • Working-level SQL and Python skills, and comfort with a business intelligence or low-code tool.
  • Practical exposure to an enterprise resource planning system; SAP is strongly preferred.
  • Comfort running workshops and translating between operational staff and technical teams.
  • Understanding of data governance concepts, including ownership, lineage, and quality.
  • Fluent French and working English.
  • Based in Montreal and available to travel regularly to the operation site, approximately once a month.
Responsibilities
  • Map and document end-to-end business processes across maintenance, fleet, plant, supply chain, human resources, and finance in a consistent, build-ready notation such as BPMN.
  • Visit client sites, run workshops, and identify the gap between documented processes and actual operations.
  • Quantify the value at stake and turn analysis into a working tool, such as a dashboard, data pipeline, or workflow application.
  • Establish the financial baseline and post-implementation key performance indicators for each tool, measuring cost, time, and error-rate impact, and maintain a scorecard that proves each implementation's value in dollars.
  • Analyze integrations between operational and enterprise systems, and specify the data that must move between them, including its owner, quality, and lineage.
  • Translate operational language into system requirements and system behavior into language understood by site personnel.
  • Establish process ownership by assigning a named business owner to each documented process to approve and maintain it.
  • Train client users, transfer ownership, and document what is built.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior exposure to mining, heavy industry, or another asset-intensive operating environment.
  • Experience in a carve-out, post-acquisition, or greenfield environment where documentation had to be created rather than inherited.
  • Familiarity with a modern data platform, including a lakehouse, lineage tooling, or semantic modelling.
  • Experience in a startup or founding-stage environment.
